Guest guest
Thanks for the advice! It is so true. As I have had to eliminate foods from my diet to alleviate the growth of Candida, I actually have found out I am allergic to some of the foods I was still trying to eat. The allergies were not necessarily showing themselves as sneezing, but as headaches, congested sinuses, tiredness, etc. I was able to start eliminatint from my small array of allowed food, and found out that eggs were giving me migraines, cheese was swelling my sinuses, etc. Even though I can eat even less now, I am so much more comfortable. I do prefer it this way. I am a better wife and mommy now that I do not have to battle all this " mild " physical ailments. I could go on with more symptoms I get from various sources. The key is to not give up and learn something new everytime. Be willing to apply it. SaNDY - sugar cravings Hello, all sufferers, I'm 55 so am about as old as you can be with candida--I was first treated with the ancestor of tetracycline when I was three and during my 20s was on tetracycline daily for 5 years because of severe sinus infections caused by an undiagonosed broken nose. I've been through many candida cures (by accident found out what the problem was when I was 40) with knowledgeable MD's and many alternative health practitioners. I am presently in day 11 of the protocol I learned about on this list from modernherbalist.com who recommends CitriMax as a non-stimulant to reduce cravings of sweets and startches. I think this as well as GSE (Grapefruit Seed Extract in a liquid form) help get one over the crucial three or four days. Many others have mentioned these products but I want to share what I have experienced about the interaction between natural and environmental allergens and sugar cravings. I can best illustrate this interaction by telling you that on Monday I was in the dentist's chair for 3 hours--i left with my left jaw aching and spent the next two hours planning--no scheming--to go get some ice cream or tapioca pudding, actually debating with myself about which would have less sugar. But I promised myself when I started on this new program that I would not break the food fast for the requisite 90 days. I massaged my stomach for about an hour until the mucus in my left sinus was expelled--my sugar cravings disappeared immediately. I have had over the years many experiences when sugar cravings have been triggered by things to which I was allergic. These include rainy days that are moldy days; tree, flower, and grass pollens; leaf mold in the fall when molding leaves are in the street; polyester in all forms, particularly clothing (underclothes especially) and in bed pillows or sheets (use all cotton, all wool, or Pacific Coast's allergy cleaned feather pillows available at Linens and Things; all cotton sheets and underware can be mail ordered from the Harmony catalogue at 800-869-3446); dust mites (if you opt for covering your mattress with an allergy barrier make sure it is made from 100% cotton, not a synthetic); flourescent lights and other electrical sources (wear blue-tinted lenses--I did for years at one job); and all those chemicals used in industrial cleaning, many perfumes, and just gas fumes. These allergies to chemicals can be controlled by Ferrous Fumarate 30mg mixed with elemental Copper Gluconate 2.5 mg that will be compounded and ordered from Pathway Apothocary, 5415 Cedar Lane, Bethesda, land, 20814 phone 301. 530-1112. Any of these may trigger in you cravings for the foods you shouldn't eat. I mentioned my observation once to a doctor and his response was, " Yes, of course. " I'll take on any doctor horror stories in the house. I hope this information helps just one person. Eternal vigilance is the price of normality--good courage. Guest guest
Hi , So, you are using the Zapper? I was considering getting one to try. Have you used it before, and do you feel that you get results? Where did you get the parasite remedies? Here is a site for the Zapper for those who may be interested. http://zebu.addr.com/~essence/index.htm Peace and Joy, Gloria sugar cravings Okay, because we're talking about pancreas problems, overweight, and sugar cravings, I have to say I am quite overweight, too. My sugar cravings have been undefeatable. I just got diagnosed with candida and Lyme Disease, among other things and started an alternative tx. I was told that getting rid of any parasites I have would help me recover from my many diseases. So I am taking anti-parasite herbal remedies and using Dr. Hulda 's zapper (do a search for more information). The interesting thing is that ever since I started the parasite protocol, my sugar cravings have subsided. Dr. said in her book, The Cure for all Diseases, that sometimes parasites can cause the pancreas to malfunction. The tie to candida is that our bodies don't fight parasites as well when we are compromised by candida. It's also possible that the zapper treats candida to some degree, too. Hope you all don't mind the discussion of all this alternative stuff. I'm making no endorsements. Just suggestions for research. I'm taking all this one day at a time. Guest guest
I'm going to try it as soon as I can afford to buy the Zapper and the parasite cleanse. I do not have the money this week. When I do, I will report my results. Peace and Joy, Gloria sugar cravings > using Dr. Hulda 's zapper ... THAT IS A MIRACLE! Alright, I'm embellishing but suffice it to say that I have been a slave to my cravings for five years and I'm not being controlled right now. Dr. says in her book, The Cure For All Diseases, that the zapper does kill candida but that it's not a cure. Between the parasite cleansing, proper nutrition, avoiding sugars and simple carbs/starches, I think this is a great approach. As said, I'm taking all this one day at a time, too. The treatment is pain-free and I can't see it harming me in any way. Incidentally, I've had my cat on the parasite program for cats & dogs and she is friskier than I've seen her in years. I'm psyched. Guest guest
Thank you Bee, I did read it last night. Oh but the sugar is so hard. I'm going to make a little bubble for me. HaHa. Deb
Guest guest
Dear Deb, I understand cutting out sugar can be difficult but you can do it! Your body will thank you immensely. There is an article on the damage sugar does to your body in our files - I believe there are 124 reasons not to have it, even by healthy people. Treat yourself with something that is a non-food when you've been a good girl and stayed off sugar for 3 days, i.e. a new plant for your house, a book, a movie, etc. You'll deserve the reward! And I'll give you big hugs and cheers! Luv, Bee > Thank you Bee, I did read it last night. Oh but the sugar is so hard. > I'm going to make a little bubble for me. HaHa. Guest guest
Bee, thank you. I know I can do it. I just have to use today as day 1 and go from there. I am going to pull the diet again and really try to follow it. I woke up this A.M. with terrible bloating, gas, pain and it is not worth living like this. So, I have to start somewhere. I'm doing a lot of walking as my diversion. Although it is raining downpours here from the storm. I pray for all involved with Katrina. I wish I could help with the Web answers, but I am so new, I still need to hear from you with your advice. Keep reminding me that I can do this. Day 1--today is the day. Thank you for your help. Guest guest
I found that when I eat a high-protein food-- rather than simple carbs, which just convert to sugar-- the sugar cravings are less extreme. I do still eat sugar, but my craving for it is less intense when my diet is good. I have so few vices these days--no alcohol, no caffeine, and I've never gone in for junk food-- that sugar is the only guilty pleasure I have left. Though I don't eat it a lot, they'd have to wrench it out of my cold, dead hand. But I have no yeast problems to speak of. If I did, I guess I'd have to give up sugar and go trolling for a young boyfriend as my vice du jour! ; ) Melinda
Guest guest
I am finding that if I eat protein for breakfast, especially, instead of cereal (for example) my craving for sugar is less. Melinda, I married my young boyfriend, so I guess I don't have that option. ;-) > > I found that when I eat a high-protein food-- rather than simple carbs, which just convert to sugar-- the sugar cravings are less extreme. Guest guest
I only " crave " sugar when I have my cycle, but I do enjoy a desert now and then when I am out...coffee is my weakness. I eat pretty good. I don't really eat much junk food, don't like soda, don't even really like juice much. I just honestly don't think I could change my diet any more life would not be much fun if I had to always watch what I ate...I would go from worrying about my implants to worring about my diet and I don't want to think about my body everyday. --- In , " Molly Bloom " <mollyb54@b...> wrote: > > I am finding that if I eat protein for breakfast, especially, instead of cereal (for example) my > craving for sugar is less. > > Melinda, I married my young boyfriend, so I guess I don't have that option. ;-) > > --- In , " freebindi " <bindi@a...> wrote: > > > > I found that when I eat a high-protein food-- rather than simple carbs, which just convert > to sugar-- the sugar cravings are less extreme. Guest guest
, I understand completely . . . There are times when I feel the same way . . . Until I start hurting badly enough . . . then I reorder my priorities and get back on track. My analogy is that of walking a balance beam . . . As long as I do everything I know to do, I stay on the beam. But, if I vary too much off my program, I fall. Depending on a number of things, it can be difficult to get back on the beam. My goal is to make that beam as wide and as close to the ground as possible. . . If you're feeling good and can enjoy desserts on occasion, more power to you. Just know that, if you start feeling bad, to check what you are eating. That could hold the clue as to why you feel bad.
