Guest guest
Sugar does many things, for one, it suppresses your immune system, and secondly, it promotes fungal growth. I am sure you will get many more responses to reasons why sugar is bad for you. Guest guest
, A little sugar won't hurt most people whose immune system isn't whacked . . . But, if you're having health problems, one of the first things you need to get rid of is sugar. The article I posted today on the effects of antibiotics touches on the problems with sugar. Getting sugar out of the diet is especially tough when you have systemic fungal problems because every cell of your body screams for sugar. When you do get fungal problems under control (spit test), you can start reintroducing sweet fruits a little a time . . . then try a natural sweetner like honey. If you overdo it, the spit test will tell you quickly. It's unfortunate that, in a day when one in three people may develop diabetes, the food processers are adding sugar to almost everything - even canned vegetables! That's one reason we recommend eliminating processed foods. Substuiting artifical sweetners isn't the answer either. A little occasionally won't hurt most people. But all artificial sweetners have their own problems. I've seen people who were desperately ill because they were hooked on them. Guest guest
Sugar is one of the most harmful foods we allow into our diet. Ancient civilizations hardly consumed much sugar at all, and they were healthier for it. It wasn't until cane sugar became processed into a powdery white substance that it began to be craved and put into almost anything. It is like a drug! once you are on it, it is very hard to get off....practically all of us in America and other civilized countries are addicted to sugar in a bad way! There are several good websites that outline the dangers associated with sugar. Basically, it sets the immune system back, and makes it unable to fight well, as well as destroying teeth. I think it is very hard to get off of it completely, but it sure is a good idea to use as little as possible. I have substituted white sugar in my house with Sucanat, which is the natural cane sugar in dried form. It sounds the same, but the difference is that it still contains all of the vital nutrients found in the cane sugar to begin with. White sugar has all of it removed, and so actually causes your body to deplete more stores of vitamins when metabolized. We also use raw honey for sweetening, and xylitol on occasion. I'll send Dr. Mercola's info on it...it's eye-opening!
