Guest guest Posted January 29, 2004 Report Share Posted January 29, 2004 Well, I guess I will tell my story also. I had surgery for endometriosis 7 times, had 9 pregnancies and three births. In my middle 30's they wanted to do exploritiory surgery for cancer. I made them promise to do a historectomy no matter what they found. I was tired of all the sergeries. They agreed and did find cancer but just a small amount along with tubes glued to the wall and lots of Endometriosis. I will let you know as will anyone in my family and friends, I DID WAKE UP AS A #1 BITCH. I have been on the best and strongest hormone made for I had every symtem ever recorded. I am on many drugs right now and this is one that no one dares mess with. I will fight tooth and nail for my sanity pill. As long as I have it I am very very pleased I had the hystorectomy. I have fibroids, tilting uterus, and wish I did not have to be concerned about hyperplasia. I do prefer not to have to take P at all. I have heard what your Dr is telling you - that simple uterus removal should not effect your orgasm. Each of my 2 sisters (one aged 59 and one 65) have had hysterectomies (one of them had total - including ovaries) and they have had no change in sexual experience they tell me. These are intimate discussions but they are very important to all of us and need to be discussed. I go to my local " standard of care " Dr in late Aug for ultrasound to check my ovarian cyst and have a physical. Depending on the results, I may discuss the hysterectomy option with him (He is an associate professor at a local medical school in OB/GYN and does a lot of surgery) I do want to keep my ovaries. I knew I had fibroids and a somewhat thickened uterine lining before I started the WP and Wiley personally told me that her protocol would get rid of those. No such luck. As a matter of fact my ovary had become encrusted with a cyst that caused excessive bleeding for months. I have been very happy not to be concerned anymore about thick lining, fibroids, bleeding and worry about P. For a while I avoided all P after the hyst, but now I put a little P (olive oil compounded) on my breast at night for 14 days. As I mentioned earlier I also paint Lugol on my breast and take iodine. P and iodine work synergistically I have been told. I recently got rid of a breast cyst that way in one week. Since one of my ovaries was encrusted with a bleeding cyst, my ovaries were removed as well as my uterus, which was filled with fibroids. I have had no problem with orgasms and additional use of T (testo) has helped my sexual desire. Note: I did have problems with hair loss after the hysterectomy and it took about 9 mos to correct that with iodine, armour and Evening Primrose oil. Now my hair is looking pretty healthy. So you may want to be aware of that. Hope this helps with your decision. Having a hyst is not something to think about lightly. I saw the Body show some months ago and saw how small the uterus really is, no bigger than a small hand's fist. That made me laugh and wonder why I was making such a big deal about losing another body part. You can have very high levels of estradiol in the tissues without it showing up in standard blood tests because the veins have already delivered their supply of free estrogen. I was shocked to find that I had 10 X normal physiological level of estradiol in my saliva test after using Oestrogel for a year. Sometimes a woman can have up to 100X normal physiological levels when using transdermal. When taking oral estrogen, the liver deals with any excess, but when using transdermal and by-passing the liver, the sex hormone binding globulin is overwhelmed and the excess E (or P) is deposited in the red cells. This could be the reason you continue to have hyperplasia in spite of showing low E in standard blood tests. (Disclaimer to Dana: I am not a doctor; I just play one on the internet. Please do not misconstrue this as medical advice and sue me in case I am wrong.) I imagine that your Aerodial acts as a transdermal, too, only through the nose tissues. I recently used some estrogen drops, and found that I had the same symptoms I had when I used the Oestrogel--namely, swelling of the gums behind my molars and pain in a submandibular salivary gland. So now I only take estradiol orally. Since a lot of doctors don't believe in saliva tests, there is this doctor who has developed a blood spot test for female hormones.
