Congradulations!

You should start filling out over the next few weeks .

.. . This may continue for the next six months to a

year . . . It's not like you suddenly poof out . . .

It will be a year before what you see is what you get.

Until then, waiting is the game. There's no point in

stressing! . . . One woman told me that her doctor

refused to do a lift. He told her that, if she didn't

look good after a year, he would fix her free . . .

After a year, she was delighted because she had shaped

up beautifully.

Wear the sports bra until healing is well underway.

You'll know when it's time . . . You could tuck some

aids (shoulder pads work) in your bra to fill out,

then gradually reduce the bulk. Unless the change is

drastic, you'd be surprised at how many people don't

even notice. You won't feel comfortable in underwire

bras for some time!

However, should anyone say something, please use it as

an occasion to let others know about the dangers of

breast implants. IMHO, the reason they have gotten

away with this for so long is women's reluctance to

admit they have or implants or that implants made them

sick!

Whether or not you lose weight will depend on a number

of factors . . . How much your implants were affecting

your hormones and how active you are . . . not to

mention what you eat. If you'll concentrate on eating

healthy rather than your weight, you may find your

weight takes care of itself.

Please take very good care of yourself . . . Drink a

lot of water, rest and be good to yourself. If you get

an energy surge, don't overdo it! Do keep moving

though!

Hugs and prayers,

Rogene

Congratulations on your explant. It does take awhile for your

breasts to return to normal--anywhere to several weeks to several

months. I think mine had gone back to normal in about 2 months--but

then I didnt have much to fluff back out! I wore a padded bra on

top of my bandaging and sports bra to look closer to the same size.

I did this for awhile and just eventually went to one padded bra

after I had the bandages and sports bra off. I looked smaller but I

never looked that big to begin with. Even with implants I was only

a B cup. So you can wear another bra over your sport bra if the

size difference is very noticable.

As far as weight is concerned, I don't think that is something that

would happen right away usually if you are trying to lose weight.

My weight never changed at all ( I wasn't trying to gain or lose).

Weight issues are complicated and I dont think just getting implants

out is going to affect it that much initially. It is often tied to

hormones (especially thyroid), estrogen dominance, sometimes poor

eating habits, and even meds that people are on, lack of exercise,

etc. Having your implants out will get your immune system back on

track which in turn can affect your hormone systems positively. It

may take more than that though. I think the Maker's Diet book gives

information on how to eat healthy for immune system functioning and

eating healthy is bound to help your weight also. However, if you

have weight problems, you may need to have all your hormones checked.

Hi Charlotte - congratulations! I had mine out on the 19th, and so

did Jenna. My breasts look rather odd right now, the peaks are sort

of FLAT, so I know what you mean, they wouldn't fill out the cup of

a normal bra - YET. But everyone says they will fluff in time, and

we shouldn't worry about that. I have been wearing the sports bras

too, and they make you appear flatter - however, NO ONE has

noticed!! Even my kids, who always notice boobies-along with other

funny kid things, didn't notice. I felt better the first couple

days, then had a few very bad days, but today I am feeling pretty

good, and am excited because the pain I have had for so long is

already better. I only lost about four pounds - from the implants.

I'm hoping that my new healthier eating will show in my figure.

Right now I am just praying that I can see just a smidgeon of the

beauty God sees in me. Take it easy and give yourself time to heal

and get your health back. Cherie

--- Charlotte,

I took a couple of months to fluff out. So in the meantime i found

these water filled inserts that go in your sports bra and they were

great. I wear them everywhere, all day. For me they dont really

work in a regular bra but i have been trying not to wear regular

bras anyway because they hurt my incision even though its been over

three months. Anyway these inserts are at walmart and are only 5

bucks and they are cloth covered so you dont sweat all over them. I

still cant even fill out the smallest bra so i think i will be

making an investment in these inserts hahah.

Thanks for your note to Charlotte. I actually needed to hear it

too. I have always been so secretive about the implants and only

confided in a couple people about the explant. I have a hard time

with that, but I will be willing to start sharing as God leads me

to. Thanks, Cherie

Cherie,

I understand very well . . . I was there for many

years.

What I've found so heartwarming is the reception I've

had when I started sharing my experiences! . . . It

tears down walls that you never knew existed!

I, too, have only told a few people about the implants, and those

same people know I'm having an explant in a little more than a week.

I almost feel afraid to file the report to the FDA, for fear that

somehow it will come back to haunt me. However, I feel that's

something I must do, so I will file that form. I wanted to share

with everyone that I was in contact with someone who was actually

looking to have a lift, and was told by the plastic surgeon she

visited that she " needed " implants and that a lift would not look

good on her. I told her my story, and told her while I would never

tell her what to do, that she needed to know the side to the story

that is not advertised - that women are getting sick from both

silicone and saline. She had been worried about silicone but since

the public has been made to believe that saline is safe, she was

considering them. She decided to get a second opinion, and the

plastic surgeon she visited told her she would have good results with

a lift. I told my husband that I'm on a crusade now and he rolled

his eyes, but honestly if saving one person from this misery is all I

ever do, I feel like I've helped in some small way.

Sis,

You needn't be afraid to file a MedWatch report . . .

The part of the form made public doesn't have any

names . . . It will only state whether or not you are

a health professional.

We need EVERYONE who has received a report from Dr.

Blais listing the bacteria found in their implants to

file a MedWatch report - attaching a copy of Dr.

Blais' report.

Sis, that is why this group is here...we've found that the ability

to help others learn the truth and not go through what we've already

experienced is very healing. It is the only thing that makes sense

in the aftermath of our horrendous experiences with implants!

I'm so happy you are willing to speak up!

Hi. Thanks to everyone for the feedeback. Solid comments and advice

like where to get the water things to help fill out the sports bra

and how much to expect to pay and how long things might take...wow,

what would I be doing without this resource? When I went to this

doctor I had all the right questions, and now that the surgery is

done he probably can't believe how lucky he is that I'm not calling

him every day with a more questions. My area didn't have a

recommended doctor so I needed to use all the info I got right here

to find one, so far so good, thank you.

Charlotte,

Did you find a doctor in your area who would remove

your implants correctly? . . . If so, could we post

his name in our " Recommended doctors " list?

The way I see it, the information shared in this group

is incredibly powerful! . . . So much more than any

one of us could learn by ourselves!

I sincerely believe that God's hand is present

everywhere here! When I got sick I had nobody who

could help. Then I had a dream where God told me that

He would take care of my, my family AND my enemies if

I would turn things over to Him. I woke with the dream

fresh on my mind and readily agreed to do so.

Everything started changing at that point. People came

to me with information out of the blue . . . Thoughts

came to me that, even now seem strange - Like putting

a piece of Kombucha mushroom on an area of scleroderma

on my leg. But, with His guidance, I've healed. I also

believe that, He healed me so I can help others.

I pray everyone who comes here and is healed can take

their gift and share it with others.

Hugs and prayers,

Rogene

Good morning Rogene - I was flip-flopping quite a bit for a number of

months. Even though I knew that all these new pains were because of

the implants, I still would have days where I'd be like " but maybe

it's really this.... " It was difficult to feel so conflicted when I

really knew what I had to do. About a month ago, I stopped by a

little chapel and sat there asking God to please help me to know that

I'm doing the right thing by having the explant, and to guide me and

help to keep me strong. From that point on, I have not flip-flopped

once, and I feel so confident in my decision to have the explant

(especially these past few weeks because the pain is really

increasing). I also don't feel pathetic like I have for months, now

I feel really empowered and while I definitely have some anger, it

doesn't feel like destructive anger, it feels like the kind of anger

that motivates me to do something.

Hi Rogene and all, Again, thank you for all the shared knowledge.

I will be glad to share my Dr.'s info. He is in Lake Forest

Illinios his name is Terrassi. 847 234-2400. He is the

only one who actually had " Implant Removal " listed on his web site.

He is a man of few words...but I've found that actions speak louder

of course. He did a capsulectomy. I didn't ask for any of the

things mentioned in this forum, like if he would allow it to be

videoed, I just told him what I needed and he counselled me as to

what he does and how much it would cost etc. He never tried to push

a replant, in fact laid out my options without opinion. He did a

package which I have to believe is less than normal for the socio-

economic area he's in because it is a " have to " rather than a " want

to " . For the explantation in Lake Forest Hospital as an out patient

plus the bilateral lift the total was $7600. It seems to me that I

heard a (cosmetic) lift alone can cost as much as $12,000. Don't

know if that's true but the figures where scaring me to death since

we don't have unlimited funds. I mention all that $$ stuff because

this doctor tries to package for this procedure, but does not file

for your insurance. It is up to me to fight that battle, and I'm up

to it. Okay, I best go...I'm starting to itch and need to go sit for

a bit. Thanks again. Charlotte

Hi charlotte,

Thank you so much for this information. Finally, an Illinois

doctor! We've been without one for quite some time.

Hope you are feeling better and better!

Sis,

I'm so glad you are feeling empowered! . . . being

sick from implants, with the doctors not knowing why

and refusing to admit it's implants, makes one doubt

oneself. . . But it's not you, it's them!

Using your anger to take positive action is very

healthy too! You're going to get through this, and

you're going to do well. You've got what it takes!

It's hard to explain to anyone who hasn't

" experienced " God's guidance. But, when it happens,

you KNOW! . . . He will lead you where you need to go.

All you have to do is ask and " listen " . . . Now if I

could explain " listening " !

Hugs and prayers,

Rogene
