Um, some folks (like me) would be extremely hypO with a TSH of 1.40.

Have you had FREE T3 and FREE T4 done? They should be high-ish.

Just the T3 and TSH really say nothing other than the TSH may be a

bit too high.

Don't rule out thyroid stuff - 1 in 10 people are affected.

my thyroid is perfect! so no worry there...according to my discussion with my doc and since my lining is thin, i am off P for the next couple of months...and i am on a very low dose of spiro fo 50mg...and still high E...so i hope this will help the situation?! the question is, will high E supplementation cause my body not to start ovulating?bigbird3099 wrote: ,Oral P creates more insulin resistance than vaginal P. Have you had your thyroid antibodies checked? I have tried both Avandamet and Avandia and got really sick on the the Avandamet with really low blood sugar levels. I don't feel it is great to take them unless you are really insulin resistant. I have non classic (no insulin resistance) PCOS. I think that taking oral P and the spiro are working against each

TSH is Thyroid Stimulating Hormone. It is present to send a signal to the thyroid to produce more thyroid hormones when there is a need for them. When the TSH is measurable, obviously there's a need for more thyroid hormones, with the degree of highness dependant on the need. So if one's thyroid hormones are adequate, the TSH will be low.

One can not also go by T3 alone. One should look at the Free T3 and Free T4, those that are unbound, available, and circulating. In other words, those that we are actually "using". Checking the T3 isn't going to tell you anything except that there's some there.

If one's body temp is below 98 and there are some symptoms present, there's a likelihood that there is also a thyroid issue. Read this: www.stopthethyroidmadness.com

T4 is merely a storage hormone - it doesn't tell you how your body is using it.

The Free T4 would have been a far better test to run. I'm not giving you a hard

time, really. <grin> Lots of regular drs only test the TSH and T4 and are happy

with those if they fall within a broad range, but they don't tell the whole story and

most times patients are left with untreated thyroid issues who later develop interesting

things like diabetes, CFS, fibromyalgia, etc etc etc...

And endos? Diabetes drs and endocriminologists (hear that via a thyroid group).
