Are there actually any people on this list who expect money from their BPD parents? Aside from so many BPD people having problems with finances (my mother has done her share of binge shopping!), isn't inheritance a pretty old fashioned idea? I don't expect a dime from either of my parents. My mother, the one with BPD, lives on social security and SSI! She has no money, no assets, and is living in an assisted care facility. She's a money sink, not a money source. Thank goodness the state of California provides some extra money for these " board and care " facilities. Even if a parent with BPD still has some money, I would not advise anyone to count on an inheritance. Couldn't the person with BPD decide that one of the children (or all of them!) was " all bad " at the time the will was written? They could leave the money to whomever they decided was " all good " -- the maid, the next door neighbor, or even the family pet. We all know that BPD logic does NOT have to make sense! I suggest you don't get your hopes up. :-) Marjorie http://www.bookcrossing.com/mybookshelf/ahimsa
