Hi ,

I haven't had my explant yet (November 4) but I have had all the symptoms you describe and more. I also have silicone. The sooner you get them out the better, because it just gets worse--at least for me it did. I imagine that the other ladies here will say the same.

Are you scheduled to get them out soon? I can't wait. Good luck!

Symptoms help

Ok I am not sure what symptoms are related to silicone implants but ever since I got them I have had strange things happening, like I get up at night alot to go to the bathroom and I can sleep, I sometimes wake up in a wet spot of sweat and I am cold, I have tons of hair loss and burning and stinging in my breasts but not constant, I have a yeast infection that won't go away with treatment and now my skin is breaking out and dry as hell..this is new. I am very worried about the hairloss as it is so thin but what if it is not related to my implants?? Can someone please help?

Same thing has happened to me. I have salines (explant scheduled for 11/11). I have had serious night sweats, trouble sleeping, I get up to goto the bathroom also, dry skin, breakouts occasionally (more frequent than normal), hair loss. All of this sounds like thyroid to me. It must be some sort of autoimmune reaction caused by the implants. Dr. Kolb said on explantation.com that it is because of some sort of connection with one of the hormones put out by the brain. I feel like i've gained weight too. Or, I wonder if I just feel bloated because of this other stuff. I don't really have a good explanation but I can totally identify with you.

When is your surgery?

I am supposed to schedule surgery with Dr Kolb soon. I have already

had a consult with her and a battery of blood tests that were all

normal..NORMAL, so I am not sure what the heck to think. I am on

some supplements but not sure if they are doing a darn thing for my

hair. I am having an ultra sound done on the 4th of November so I

hope to be able to schedule surgery soon after, but in all reallity

I may have to wait until after Christmas since I am flying to Oregon

to see family and not sure how far out dr kolb is booking. Thank you

for responding, I sure hope all goes well for you and that your

symptoms get better.

Melinda,

who is doing your explant? How long have you had your implants? I

am real scared about removing mine as I have little breast tissue to

start with and I have very large implants. Any information you and

the ladies here share is a great help to me and a comfort too.

Thank You,

I'm going to Melmed for explant, and I feel good about him, for a number of reasons. Send me your email, if you like, and I can tell you more. I've had my silicone gels since September 2004, and have had symptoms pretty much ever since. I, too, have little breast tissue (pre-implant size a small B) and now I'm a big C-small D. I have 500 cc silicone implants. I'll miss the hourglass figure, but at this point I just want my life back. My last daughter is growing up and I'm missing out!

Yes, all those symptoms can be related to your implants. They are

definitely affecting your immune system. It sounds like you

probably have systemic candida infection too. Most women sick from

implant do. It would be a good idea to start cleaning up your diet

and taking things to help control candida like Primal Defense,

garlic, lots of plain yogurt, etc. Also drinking alot of pure water

is good for you. These things will help your bowel flora. Have you

read the book by Jordan Rubin called the Maker's Diet. It really

explains how the immune system is connected to our digestive system

and gives really good advice on how to eat for autoimmune disease.

Of course, most people see little improvement until they get out the

implants, but starting to work on these things now will set you on

the path a little faster to recovery once your implants are finally

out.Good luck.

Hi

It is very common for all tests to come out normal even though you

feel very sick. I had negative bloodwork also. I even had a 24 ekg

and they came back and said that my heart was normal even though I

had several hundred pvc's a day and a heart rate anywhere from 90-

135 beats per minutes just sitting or walking around. I had all

this pain, all these strange symptoms and all they could find was a

low wbc. I really think all these tests are useless. Even if they

give you a diagnosis it will just hurt you when you go to get

insurance. I was uninsurable because I was diagnosed with fms.

Your best bet is to get your explant scheduled as soon as you can

get in with a qualified surgeon!
