Guest guest
Hello Lea, Thank-you for the information; I don't have any money, and even though a neurologist wrote a letter to my insurance company, they still refuse to cover my surgery which will cost 6,100.00. I am feeling a bit low now because the pain is so intense that I am just exhausted. Thanks for the advice... Carol
Guest guest
Carol, Have you challenged your insurance company? I wouldn't let them get away from paying without a good fight, even a letter from an attorney. Guest guest
Carol, What does your insurance company say regarding implants or cosmetic surgery? Is your insurance through a company that " self-insures " ? . . . They fall outside the regulations insurance companies face. I certainly would appeal. . . The cost to the insurance company of keeping you sick is going to be many times higher than getting your implants out so you can get well. If you can find anyone who has their implants removed and paid for by your insurance company, your chances are much better. Shari's insurance company paid after Dr. Blais' report showed all the horrible organisms that were growing in her implants! . . Don't take " No " for an answer . . . As long as the FDA says saline implants are safe, insurance companies should be covering removal. . . They pay for the consequences of smoking, drinking and overeating. Right? What's the difference? Guest guest
Carol, Kenda is right...if you haven't, already, get MD or lawyer to send a letter to your insurance co., explaining the " medical necessity " . Some insurance companies give in when they are made to realizensurgery will be cheaper in the long run vs. never ending medical bills/expensives I'm sorry you are in this predicament...I feel bad for you; wanting explant, but unable to afford it. Squeekie wheel gets the grease! Hang in there, saying a prayer for you that you will be well soon! Take care, Cheryl
Guest guest
Sorry Carol, just saw your posts about appealing to the ins. co. Sure hope this all turns out in your favor. It really stinks that the surgery is so costly and that it has to come out of our pocket, when the manufacturer and the FDA knew it could make some of us sick. I wish you all the best! Guest guest
I suspect an MD will carry more weight right now, for Carol. Do you have a doctor willing to say that you are reacting to the implants? That could carry a lot of weight. > > Carol, > Kenda is right...if you haven't, already, get MD or lawyer to send a > letter to your insurance co., explaining the " medical necessity " . Guest guest
Molly, She already had an MD write a letter and was still turned down, that's why I thought an attorney might be necessary at this point.
