Guest guest
Hello Cheryl, I saw a neurologist (Dr. Steve Trobiani, at the NorthStar Pain Clinic in Maple Grove, Minnesota) who totally believes my fibro pain is caused by the implants and gladly wrote me a letter; I have submitted the letter twice and the insurance company is only now setting up a teleconference for November, 29th (long after my surgery on the 7th). I also included copies of my tests from the last five years as well as a personal statement describing my daily struggle. It seems that I even doubt what I know to be true (that the implants are causing me this pain), but in the face of such oppossition it is hard to have faith. things will get better, when I am feeling better I can work and then I'll pay off the surgery if I don't get reimbursed. But I will not go unheard, I will use every soapbox that I can stand on to preach mine and stories like mine. I pray each day that we all get where we want to be... God Bless, Carol
Guest guest
Carol You have a lot of heart. You will get those implants out, get better, and someday all this pain will be a distant memory. Keep on perservering. You will reap the rewards! Guest guest
so finding a neurologist who believes in silicone sickness and will write a letter could help get insurance $$$....i hadn't thought of that.........but then, of ALL the doctors i have seen in the past two years, NONE of them believe in silicone sickness......also, though some options like CO and TX have been suggested, as there are docs there who could help, i feel like my situation does not lend itself to leaving AZ for treatment........is there not one woman in this support group from AZ, who has any sort of medical support in this cause? today the pain is so bad, i feel like i cannot fight much longer...... > > > > Hello Cheryl, > > I saw a neurologist (Dr. Steve Trobiani, at the NorthStar Pain > Clinic > > in Maple Grove, Minnesota) who totally believes my fibro pain is > caused > > by the implants and gladly wrote me a letter; I have submitted the > > letter twice and the insurance company is only now setting up a > > teleconference for November, 29th (long after my surgery on the > 7th). > > I also included copies of my tests from the last five years as > well as > > a personal statement describing my daily struggle. Guest guest
Kathie, There are some things you could try even before getting your implants out that may help. Fortunately they are all inexpensive! One of the best is eating raw, freshly crushed garlic. You might have to be creative in how you get it down! You can eat as many as 12 cloves a day. However, I'd suggest starting slowly and building up. Garlic is a natural antibiotic, antioxident, and antifungal. I can tell a difference within 24 hours of eating garlic. Also, Oil of Oregano (put drops in grapefruit or orange juice - it's strong!) . . . is a good immune booster and antibacterial. . . Olive Leaf extract is good too . . . That comes in capsules, so it's easier to take. Here again, start slow and build up. You will probably experience some herxing. Just recognise it for what it is and don't panic! . . . You'll quickly learn to regulate your detoxing to keep it from being disabling. Just don't give up when you find yourself temporarily feeling worse! Soaking in a tub of hot water with two cups of Espom Salts can help draw toxins from your skin. I think Kathy mentioned sea salt and clay baths. You can find information about any of these online. www.curezone.com has some excellent recommendations for detox therapies. Most of them are inexpensive and can be done at home. If you're having a lot of muscle pain, it's likely fibromyalgia. Very common among implant women. The worst thing you can do is to not keep moving. It sets up a viscious cycle where it just keeps getting worse. You don't have to exercise vigorously, but you do need to keep stretching and moving about. I think Patty posted some other plastic surgeons in your area . . . You might check them out, and if they don't work out, get on the phone and keep calling until you find a doctor willing to work with you. Be careful about putting the doctors on guard with what you say or how you ask - that can bring a negative response - even from a good doctor. Hugs and prayers, Rogene

Guest guest
Kathie, I am sorry you are in such pain. I know that there have been women from Arizona on this forum, so I hope that some of them speak up for you. I no longer live in Arizona, but I can tell you that finding doctors for help with silicone illness was extremely difficult and disheartening. I did find a naturopath who believed me, and that was a blessing, but he was in Tucson. Come to think of it, he was on the board of a Naturopathic Educational Center in Mesa! I think he was one of the founders. His name is Dr. Lance , if you want to look him up and see if he can help point you in the right direction. He may know of some doctors who can help.I have his business card in my office, but I will have to hobble over there on my crutches, so if you don't mind, I will try to send it in another email!
