Guest guest
Hi Rogene, I am in Canada.I have spoken to Dr. Browns secretary explained the circumstances and have an appointment for a consultation with him feb 21.I have also gone to my family dr...first time in 10yrs....he is referring me to a local ps.I am frustrated with the process for sure. The appointment with Dr Brown is so far away and only a consultation. The referring ps that is local has not even called with an appointment yet.Being so sick and in pain I whave decide to go with whatever dr is able to get the explant done first.I am terrified of the outcome at the same time as pre implant my breasts were exremely saggy and resembled photo's I have seen of bad explants without replacement.I am afraid my breasts will literally fall INTO my chest as they did somewhat prior to inplants when I was in certain positions. This is all so scarey.I just want to be healthy. How long should this all take?I have been waiting for almost 2 weeks for the referring ps to call me with an appointment and have since found several large...quarter size lumps in my natural breast tissue.Thank you again for the support. Guest guest
Wow, that's a first! It is so good to know that some doctors aren't totally lost causes! Guest guest
Kim, Since you have some lumps, they may expedite your appointment. I'd be sure to let them know! As far as how you will look afterwards, if you get a lift, you will probably look much better than you did preimplant. As far as choice of surgeons, the most important thing is to have them removed properly. That means, at a minimum, a total capsulectomy. Preferably an en bloc procedure. You will want a doctor who will commit to doing the job right, even if you have to wait longer. If there is a spill, or the capsule is left behind, it may be more difficult to recover. Regardless, when it comes between the choice of being healthy, or having big boobs, almost all of us would opt to be healthy. Without health, nothing is worth while! Explant is a breeze compared with implant surgery. We have plenty of women here who will atest to that!. I'd suggest that, while you're waiting, you start using some natural things for healing. One of the best is raw, crushed garlic. A theraputic dose can be as many as 12 cloves a day. . . . However, I'd start with one, and, if that feels OK, have another later in the day - then gradually work up to as many as you can handle. You can get empty gel caps at a forumulating pharmace to pack yourself. . . Just open the capsule, scrap the garlic off the press, and close the capsule. There are some foods, like salad or pizza that you may enjoy garlic on. The point is not to heat the garlic because it looses much of its potency. Also, Oil of Oregano and Olive Leaf extract are fast acting herbs that can help you get through a crisis. The things to avoid are sugar!!! AND stress and anger. Stress and anger put a terrible load on your body, sapping energy that you need for healing. Drink plenty of non-chlorinated water. . Avoid all the chemicals possible. Sweat as much as possible . . . eat as organic as possible. Avoid processed foods - but eat a well balance diet. Regardless of what you do, you probably won't feel well until those implants come out. However you can mediate your symptoms while you wait. Probiotics like Primal Defense, acidopholis, yogurt, and other naturally fermented foods can help restore the flora that your body needs to maintain health. www.curezone.com has a number of detox program listed. Of particular interest to me is the liver detox program. I've done a number of those with, what I consider, excellent success. If you have any questions, ask away . . . we have a bunch of women who want to see you get well! Hugs and prayers, Rogene
Guest guest
Yes I was very surprized he even emphasized that when I do seek out another ps they may try to talk me into implants since they would make more money doing this.He said I strongly encourage you to decline as they obviously don't agree with you.He predicted that if I implanted again I would again have the same problems.I was very, very surprized and quite relieved feeling he must be an ethical dr after all!glory2glory1401 <glory2glory1401@...> wrote: Wow, that's a first! Guest guest
Kim The best preparation you can do for your surgery is to be sure you are in the best health possible, under the circumstances. . . Primarly, do what you can to minimize fungal problems. . Dr. Kolb has a pre-explant protocol for that - however, between the herbs and probiotics, eating healthy, destressing, drinking water, etc., you will be doing much the same thing. We really don't understand why, but it's rare when a woman who has had implants doesn't have a systemic fungal/yeast/Candida problem. That alone can make you feel horrible! Assuming it's your implants that are making you sick, this won't get you well while you still have your implants. However, it can go a long way in helping you feel better and poised for a quick recover when your implants are out. Sometimes it feels like an uphill battle . . . with the wind blowing in your face! . . . Just take one step, one day at a time. Make the changes you feel comfortable with as you feel you can handle them. Trying to do too much as once can be so stressful it's counterproductive. It took you some time to get to this stage. It's going to take some time to get well. Just be good to yourself and know that tomorrow will be a better day. If you want to prove it to yourself, start keeping a journal of how you feel and what you are doing.. . When you have a setback, being able to see how far you've come will strengthen your resolve to keep going. Guest guest
wow--what an honest doctor! there's a fresh approach! Would he be willing to write the insurance company in your behalf? That would be nice and helpful of him. I hope more doctors turn out to be like him. hugs, kathy > > The dr who put my implants in almost 8yrs ago phoned me today.I > desribed the symptoms I was experiencing and he suggested explant as > soon as possible. He stated that I should NOT have them replaced as I > must be one of those people that are sensitive to them.He stated he > could not preform the explant or lift I would need as his skill is not > that great in that area so he no longer offers such services. >
