Guest guest
On Wednesday evening, I discovered a large, red tumerous-looking growth on my precious 16-year-old kitty's chin. My adorable lutino cockatiel was also sick after laying an unusually large, rough egg; her vent was red and swollen and she couldn't poop. That same day, a large chip of a tooth fell out of my mouth while eating. Thursday morning came and I was very panicky. Needed to get both pets to the vet and me to the dentist, but the cat vet was not close to the bird vet, and the dentist was even further. I wanted to crawl into bed and pull the covers over my head. After downing a bottle of wine. I started using ACT to defuse my panic ... and my fears about me and my pets (OMG, Scooter the cat has cancer, Isadora the cockatiel is dying from egg binding, my tooth is falling out). I realized that my mind was telling me all that and not one thing was necessarily true. I was able to remain calm and tackle each crisis, one at a time. Well, it's Friday, and I still have concerns about all of us, but I am no longer panicked. Scooter saw the vet (could be allergies OR skin cancer), Dorable has since pooped (but not quite normally), and I need a crown on that tooth which I can't afford--so yuk. I will handle these things competently. ACT came through for me today. Two years ago, it would have been a different (and not pretty) story.
