Guest guest
Dear Limin,You are absolutely right about treating vitiligo on the emotional side as well as the physical side. Vitiligo is known to be connected with feelings of sadness and melancholy. Is your kid doing some kind of physical activity that might also help rise serotonin production? Regular Physical activity is often the big aide we don't have time to include in our kid's treatment, right? Happens to me. When doesn't get enough of his time out (bike, trampoline, running, at least 30 uninterrupted of any of this ) he is just a different kid, one that is hard to handle, cranky, bad tempered and definitely, sad.Blessings,IsaEnviado desde mi oficina móvil BlackBerry® de TelcelDate: Fri, 18 Dec 2009 21:57:50 -0800To: <BorreliaMultipleInfectionsAndAutism >Subject: Vitiligo Recently there has been some white patch like discoloration showing up on my son's cheeks. Guest guest
Selene, thank you for the reminder. My son was on one drop of Liquid Iodine Forte made by Biotics Research every other day; I recently increased it to one drop per day, because Zyto scan reflected iodine deficiency. One drop contains about 150 mcg potassium iodide, which has antimicrobial action. How does this dosage sound to you? Thanks much. Guest guest
Dear Isa,You are absolutely right! The discoloration on his facial skin does make him look sad. He is practicing ice skating to participate in a special skater team for a holiday performance. But this is an indoor activity. I need to get him to do some activity outdoors, too. He loves to do dirt course bicycle ridding. Although he does not have the technique and stamina to go one full round without stopping, you should see that big smile on his face when he is ridding his bike on the dirt course. Guest guest
Limin White patches on the skin esp for kids are quite common. What makes u think that it is something as severe as Vitiligo and not perhaps a yeast problem on the skin? I feel, it is more likely to be something simpler rather than something as serious as vitiligo. Perhaps u can try anti fungals on the skin and if u see the color coming back, u will know for sure. Guest guest
Shanthi,The white patches are not really "patches". The skin areas look exactly like normal skin but with a sudden loss of color. This is not the first time that my son has this type of discoloration on his face. In our experience, each time when I added back methionine and SAMe, the discoloration would disappear. Giving different forms of B12 several times throughout the day also helped improving the skin condition. He has not been using methionine and SAMe for so long. It is about time that I increase his methylation support. Some adults who have early grey hair, per Yasko, the cause might be similar to vitiligo, in which the lack of methionine causes the melanocytes to be more vulnerable, which in turns leading to the loss of color on the hair.Liminwww.healthbylimin.comYoung Living Distributor ID: 1111136Limin White patches on the skin esp for kids are quite common. Guest guest
Val,Yasko recommends 200 mg SAMe daily. This is adult dosage. Children can start with 1/4 of the adult dosage and build up to 1/2, if desire. SAMe is great liver protection supplement and an anti-depressant, but at times is not well tolerate by the individuals with a homozygous COMT mutation (Catecholamine-O-methyltransferase). If SAMe is not tolerate, one can replace it with supplementation of L-methionine and ATP to help to body to synthesize SAMe.As for L-methionine, 700 mg is adult dosage. Children can start with 1/4 of this dosage. Some researchers suggest that supplementing L-methionine can help to stop or even reserve grey hair.Liminwww.healthbylimin.comYoung Living Distributor ID: 1111136Limin,What dosage of methionine and SAMe per weight do you use?Val Shanthi,The white patches are not really "patches".
