Hi Madeleen and ,

yah, I'm here, and helloh to y'all!

After my WP experience, since it seemed that I couldn't tolerate P any which way, inspite of my doc urging me to take it, I went back to DHEA and Pregnenolone. Before the WP I had taken 50-100/ mg per day of Pregnenolone plus 50 mg of DHEA and been feeling fine on them. Before 'cold ducking' the WP-P and when I was already having my strong doubts about the high P, I asked Dr.Tagucchi after one of Wiley's women's meetings, if she thought it okay to take extra Pregnenolone or DHEA instead of so much P, since I had successfully taken it before..?

She said Yes.

My blood tests showed a pretty good result of E and v ery little P in my body after 3 months on that regimen. However, I also started taking 1/2 gr. Armour and when under stress 5mg Cortef for sure, in addition to the above Preg, DHEA and Maca. However, at first i.e. for 4 months Pregnenolone alone (without the DHEA) seemed to help my body make a good amount of E, after I had also quit taking olive-oil E.

I've been on 25mg Preg. and 25mg DHEA most of the time ever since, adding Maca 500-1000mg/day, except for 4 or 5 days out of the month, when my body doesn't seem to need/want them(probably going through the old luteal phase-pattern, same with Pregnenolone and DHEA.

(BTW for confirmation I have learned to use the pendulum for asking my body if it needs or not these supplements, and it's been pretty correct.

When I'm under any kind of stress, I can bet I need the above, sometimes even extra Pregnenolone and DHEA or Maca, same with iodine drops...

In addition, after my uterine lining had been - OMG measuring 12mm - Lugol's iodine/iodide drops lowered it to only 5mm within 8 months. I now continue taking Lugol's 2-4 drops per day, especially since iodine is necessary for all organs in the body to keep them free of cancer (Dr. Abrahams)

Of course this is only one example - mine is not a patented formula, because you don't know how your body likes these supplements, but starting always with the lowest dose of one supplement at a time, slowly increasing to maybe double (so you never shock your body,!), I feel it's the best chance a girl has, because the proof is only in-the-pudding. - i.e. the way you feel with it.

If it doesn't seem to make a difference, I might start adding a small dose of another one of the above mentioned supplements (then increase that one) - to attain the desired effect.

I hope these considerations can help in case you decide the doctor's suggestions haven't worked for you or you're a "burnt child" already, like I was...

All my best for finding your 'magic body wand' - formula.

Cheereo,

Charlotte

Re: Pregnenolone

sorry did not mean to be flippant in my email below. Why does Gillespie not like women taking preg and dhea?? Does she prefer they take primarily E and P? Kathy can you explain more? The question for me is do we need to have a certain level of pregnenolone and dhea if our E is adequate?

I know there is one woman on this list who did find preg and dhea worked for her meno problems. Charlotte are you still there? Can you comment.

So my doc wants me to take 100mg of pregnenolone. My blood test showedi was quite low. Previously I was on 25 mg preg. without any sideeffects. She actually wants me to take 100 mg on top of the other 25!seems like a lot to me. From what i can find on the internet, it seemsthat 25 is already a pretty high dose. Does anyone have any experiencewith dosing this stuff? (This is the same doc that wants me on 200mg Progesterone, which iwon't take at all, when my day 20 is already 8.2 - but i'm stickingwith her as she knows what she's doing with thyroid, sigh).Thanx, christina
