Ah Chris! You are a weight Yo yo as bad as I am! Over all I see

hypothyroidism as one of your biggest problems. Have you had a really

hard time adjusting it?

Sometimes! I am still tweaking my dosages of thyroid. Not too long ago I

lost a good cheap source for Cytomel which is life blood for me as I

have always had low T3 and really need alot more than Armour provides.

SO In an effort to save some money I had backed off some of the T3 and

added in more Armour. Well it didn;t work, so now I am building my T3

back up and this week went back to 6 grains Armour and 100mcg Cytomel.

This will put me officially in the poor house as the T3 I can get now is

not the same brand and does not work as well for me, and costs double

what I used to pay, but it is all I can get right now, so have to be

good enough.

pounds before treatment started, by the last picture is you found the

links to them, I was 170 pounds, tanning almost all gone and looked

Ok, I'm a little confused now.. The pic. that is on top says it was taken 01, you are thinner and lighter, the bottom pic. say taken 04, you were darker and heavier.. Do you have any other pics.. that I could see easier.. these are hard to see.. Just wondering, what is the tanning a result of? I'm dark skinned and

always have been. In the summer time I get REALLY dark, I look african

Tanning linked to the hormones melanotropin (MSH) which stimulate

melanocytes to make melanin in the skin. MSH is a by product of ACTH

production and is not directly involved in the feedback loop either

with cortisol or aldosterone. So if acth goes high like it does in

primaries, this can cause MSH to go up and stimulate the melanocytes

to produce melanin as the MSH is broken down from the higher levels of

ACTH.

It is not understood why some secondaries get tanning.

Did you say you lost weight after starting on adrenal meds.? Have you

been tested for addisons & hypothyroid? If so, whats your latetest

results? You're on 2 1/2 grs. armour right now? Was you temp. really

down in the lower 80's? What did your doc. say about all of this?

Did you get tan without any sun or did you have some sun but the tan

just lasted thoughout the winter and so forth? Did you crave sugar

foods before you started medicating and if so do you still crave the

sugar foods?

Wow, those drivers licenses pictures could be just like mine (well, if I were a man, anyway). That is when I first realized something was terribly wrong with me, when I got my new drivers license photo and siad there was no WAY I had aged that much in 4 lousy years. I wish my scanner was working, and I could scan them.

I got tan and lost the hair on my shins (another symptom of AI) a week

after a got married in 1990. I had the tan year round from 1990 (and

never lessened in hte winter) until treatment started Jan 04 and then

the tan started disapearing. I did crave sugar but not excessively.

I always had to buy the brachs candy at the serve yourself display at

Walgreen. I still like my candy, but don't eat it like I used too.

When I entered the worst of the AI in the 2 years before treatment was

started, I could eat a whole big bag of pretzels or chips at one

sitting and couldn't get enough.

The tanning doesn't hurt you, but can be a great way to help show a

doc that you are AI or 's.

Another example of excessive aging is President Lincoln. No other war

time president aged like he did. He got kicked in the forehead by a

horse when he was 10 and that likely damaged his pituitary judging

from what his physical and mental problems were.

than your face, arms and exposed areas, Is your non exposed area not as

tanned or not tan at all?

I had tannin on my face, neck, upper and lower legs, not feet and

forarms. The rest of me was not tanned at all.

I used to have sugar cravings, and would go on candy binges - I'd

eat a whole bag of jelly beans or gumdrops in one sitting! And I

always paid for it afterwards - I'd get diarrhea from all that

sugar....
