Vicci,

I don't have all the answers for you, but stick

around. We'll figure something out.

I've heard of doctors losing these records - until

they get a request from an attorney!

Are you on disability? . . . Medicaid may pay for

explant.

You're in good company there in Vegas. Patty, Anita,

Daryl and GT live there!

I was diagnosed with FM too . . . I don't have any

symptoms now, except I still need help to get the deep

sleep I need. . . Wonderfully pain free! With FM, the

tissue covering the muscle becomes very tight.

Stretching and deeply massaging these muscles will

help.

There are some things you can do to start feeling

better even before explant. Fortunately some of them

cost almost nothing! . . . Raw, crushed, fresh garlic

is a wonderful, natural antibiotic, antifungal and

antioxident. . . You can eat as many as 16 cloves a

day. I'd suggest starting slow though. You may feel as

though there's a war going on in your tummy as the

good guys go to war against the bad guys!

Soaking in hot Epsom salt baths can help, not only

with detoxing, but helping get rid of muscle pain.

If you'll follow a diet that is free from sugar and

refined grains (whole grains OK) and avoid processed

foods, you'll do your body a favor. If you're addicted

to sugar, it will be tough . . . but it's worth

whatever discomfort you go through temporarily.

Exercise is important too . . . but don't overdo it.

When your body says Stop, listen! Yoga, stretching and

massaging can help too.

Oil of Oregano or Olive Leaf extract is excellent . .

.. So are naturally fermented foods.

You probably won't feel well until your implant are

out, but you can start feeling much better, and ready

to bounce back when your implants are out.

We've got some wonderful ladies who want to help. If

you have any questions, let us know.

Life is going to get better! . . . Just do what you

can - one step at a time.

Hugs and prayers,

Rogene

Hi Vicci,

You are not alone....we've got several women here from Las Vegas,

including me, Anita, Daryl, and GT on this group. Las Vegas has had

alot of women running around sick from implants, so you'd think

there would be alot of doctors here that know how bad implants are,

but there aren't as many as you'd think! I haven't been to many

doctors, but have rather learned how to care for myself on my own.

I got better in about 4 years, so it can be done!

But, you do have to get those nasty implants out. Your body is

taxed beyond its ability to bear it. You need to give it a break,

get those implants out and start some healing therapies that will

give your immune system some support.

Let me know if I can help you more....there are not any doctors here

in Las Vegas that I can recommend for explant. It is sad, but

true. You may have to travel, unless you want to try to find

someone here in town. I went with Daryl to her consultations for

explant, and we found some very arrogant doctors in this town,

unwilling to do what needed to be done. For the best possible

outcome, you may need to go to one of the other recommended surgeons

out of state.

Hi and welcome to the group. Your story is a very familar one. If

you want a chance at getting better you will need to get your

implants out for good. And get them out properly. That means

finding a qualified plastic surgeon who will take them out intact

and remove the entire capsule. We have some recommendations on this

site of some excellent doctors who will do a great job cosmetically

as well as remove the capsule. Please give alot of consideration to

this. Most women just cannot get well without explanting. YOu can

do all kinds of detox and changing your diet, etc. but with the

implants still in, it won't make much difference. They take a heavy

toll on your immune system in a number of ways. Our bodies can

react to the silicone in the shell of saline filled or to the

silicone in the silicone implants, they can react to the toxic

metals and substances in the shell, the shell can degrade inside

your body, the implants can leak or rupture, they can become

infiltrated with bacteria, mold and other pathogens, etc. You are

not alone and we are glad that you have found this group, too. The

majority of women who get explanted recovering significantly. That

is perhaps the best reason to believe that your implants are making

you ill. Why would so many women get significantly better after

explant if the implants had nothing to do with making them ill?

Please feel free to ask any questions that you might have and we

will help in any way that we can.

Hugs, kathy

There is a statute of limitation regarding how long records must be kept by a physician practice. Unfortunately your operation was in the late 80s and that is out of the statute of limitation. You could likely request thru an attorney to request from the office for the records, but unfortunately there is not a recourse. Is there any chance that you have copies of anything to help?

I could not find my records either - they were long gone. The plastic surgeon I

had to

implant had his license revoked in 1994. A real charmer. And it takes an act

of God for a

physician to lose his license!

Anyway, I digress.... I had my implants identified by Dr. Puszkin. I know that

Dr. Blais also

does this.

I am at the point I don't think it will matter, anyway, because for the

settlement you have

to be dead to qualify anymore, I think - and I dont think that would do it.

Just wanted a little more info regarding records from the surgeon. Is this important for future possible litigation? I'm glad I saw the information on keeping the implants for future purposes, I would have never even thought of that. My explant doctor doesn't have them analyzed. Is it expensive to send them to Dr. Blais for analysis, or do people store them in the event they want them analyzed in the future?

I sent my implants to Dr. Blaise, and it only cost about $6 in

postage, and he kept them for storage. I ended up not paying for a

report, but his preliminary told me enough to know that they were

infected with microorganisms. In my case since I was not going to

litigate, it didn't seem necessary to buy a detailed report, but the

info he gave me was enough to know I had to fight little nasties in

my body.

Sis,

Dr. Blais can tell who the manufacturer was, and the

organisms found in your implants and capsules. I think

he charges about $350 . . . more or less, depending on

how detailed a study you want.

This can be valuable if there's a possilibity of

litigation, and it can tell your doctor which

organisms you are dealing with. Sometimes the report

will help get insurance coverage, even after explant.

Hugs,

Rogene
