Guest guest
Hi Patty, Thanks so much for your reply. You are right it is so maddening. I hope you will put an attachment to Dr Darrows name just so other women like me are aware. I had spoken to two women in the group who used him and were very happy. I just don't understand how he could take my money, charge me extra for COMPLETE capsulectomy, and then only remove 1/3 of the capsule. Do you know how I could find out what is going on with the remaining capsule? Should I have an MRI or x-ray? I have read Dr Blais' article about residual capsule and if it has collapsed down in the last 8 months maybe it won't be as extensive a surgery to remove it. Do you know of women who have had to go in for another surgery just to remove capsule and what was their outcome? Thank you so much for your help. glory2glory1401 <glory2glory1401@...> wrote: Hi ,I do remember you going to Dr. Darrow and telling us about your experiences and how unhappy you were with him. I am really sorry that you went through all that, and that you are still struggling with the whole capsule issue. It is a difficult position to be in, and unfortunately, one that happens more than I'd like to see. I know Pam in Virginia went to Dr. Darrow and said that her experience was good, so it just goes to show that we cannot always predict how well each patient will be treated. Finding a good plastic surgeon is a real problem. It takes searching, and asking questions, and doing what you can to find the right one. That is probably why there are only a few doctors that we can fully recommend with complete confidence. There are so many of these plastic surgeons who waffle and say things out of both sides of their mouth. My explanting surgeon was very good to me and did the explant totally right (en bloc removal), and then the next time I heard someone talk about him, he sounded like a complete jerk! It makes you wonder whether or not you can even recommend them anymore. We can put a note on our list to suggest that the women really question the doctors on the list carefully and not to assume that they are going to all have good bedside manners or be completely willing to do what we are asking. I wish it were a different story. It really is a tragedy and injustice that women are in this position in this country. After all, it is OUR body. These doctors can put implants in so fast without blinking an eye, they should be as equally willing to take them out, and take them out right without giving us a bunch of crap about it. It makes me really angry!!!Just who do they think they are?????Argh! Thanks for writing .I wish you healing....don't be overly concerned about the liver enzymes, but do take steps to help support the liver. I think Kenda gave you some great advice.Patty> > > Hi All,> > I was hoping some of you could answer some questions> > for me. I just talked to my new primary care about> > blood work she had done. Guest guest
Hi , Yes, I have known of a number of women who were in that unfortunate position of having to go back for another surgery to remove the capsule. It is not fair that they had to do that, but it does happen when the doctors take advantage of their position and don't do the honorable thing. I would definitely put in a complaint about this doctor. The outcome for these women were very good, to my knowledge. Most of them recovered their health, and had good aesthetic results as well. But they had to go to a doctor we completely trust! Dr. Huang did one of the girls that I know of, and Dr. Feng did another.
