Guest guest
According to Dr. Kolb's recent posts on explantation.com, pathologists don't routinely check for mold/fungus when analyzing explanted implants. This is why Dr. Blais is so crucial to finding out what is making one ill. He understands that mold/fungus can grow inside the saline implant through the faulty valves and that it can also grow inside the scar capsule; thus, why he checks for mold/fungus. Dr. Kolb said it's " routine household mold, so they don't test for it. " Unfortunately, I experienced the same problems with my PS. He promised me he'd do a complete capsulectomy, EnBloc explant & that he would check pathology for mold/fungus...but, because I didn't get it in writing, (Ladies, Be Sure To Get In Writing What You & The PS Are Agreeing To!) I have no recourse that he didn't check for mold/fungus in pathology & that he broke my capsule while removing it! Even though I don't have a positive path report to confirm, I'm convinced that the smell of mold in my sores and hair and the white film covering my body was from mold/fungus that came from him breaking my capsules in my chest. Just would've been nice to have a pathology report to confirm my suspicions. I can empathize with others who put their trust in their PS, but got let down!
