Guest guest
Kathy, did you receive these before or after the bombing in the park? You know, I never thought to send cards to centers before last April when Jeffco dispatch received so many things from across the world. They still have on display a huge letter signed by the dispatchers from (and can correct me if I'm wrong!) San Francisco dispatch. Kathy - the non-wave one! << One of the special and most memorable things that occurred, when Atlanta hosted in 1996, were all the cards and letters we received from comm-centers around the world offering prayer, encouragement, support and condolences. We still have each and every one of the cards and letters we received [in a keepsake book] inside the center, folks continue to flip thru it from time to time and smile. >>
Guest guest
Kathy - the non-wave one! We received several -- we'll be thinking and praying for you -- cards prior to the bombing, primarily from centers who had hosted the Olympics previously. We even received some from retired dispatchers in LA and the Lake Placid area. Spain sent us this huge box/basket of stuff, it was very very cool -- T-shirts, hats, cards from everyone, their brother and the brothers dog! After the bombing we received sympathy and " chin up " cards. I think it's a wonderful thing to do for someone, if we can work it out. BTW - what does the non-wave one! mean? You can answer off list.
