Guest guest Posted September 28, 2005 Report Share Posted September 28, 2005 Hi everyone sorry i havent posted for a few days but i have been reading your messages every day. i went to londan to see a surgeon on monday i was met off the train by sue who i met through this support group she is absolutly lovely and has helped me so much i cant thank her enough and i feel confidant and sure that explanting surgery is the right thing to do thanks sue you dont know how much you have helped me.the surgeon said he is neutral to the silicone controversy but did admit that the woman who see him for explant all have the same symtoms and that there is a lot of coincidnces.he knew the truth but will never admit it. so i am having surgery on 6 october i wont pretend im not scared i cant wait to get these out but im terrified of surgery and all the things that can go wrong i feel very angry at the moment and just cant beleive they know and yet they are still implanting women and telling us there harmless unbelievable. It's cheaper for them to pay for explant than for you to stay sick. Some companies pay, some don't . . . Try to get approval before explant. And, be persistent! You may have to provide some information like that we share here. As for your drains . . . you might find your primary care doc willing to remove them . . . Have him/her talk to Dr. Feng. Ironically when it was for explant only at Mayo it was okay. It was written as necessity. Now they say that the procedure is unnecessary because there is no reason for capsule or enbloc procedure. Stand tough with the insurance company. If they cover explant at all, you should be able to make a case for them covering you. Especially when Mayo won't remove them properly so you can get well. But one has to stay on them! My question with Mayo is if the policy is ONLY for care at Mayo? My brother and his wife have Kaiser . . .. They can go outside only when everything else fails.
