Guest guest
Hi I'm having mine out on the 11/7, so our dates are close together. I'm not 100% sure what to expect, either - but am looking forward to feeling better. Have you been experiencing symptoms, or are you having them removed for other reasons? How long have you had your implants? Sis > > I am having my saline implants taken out en bloc on November 5th. What > can I expect? Guest guest
Helloooo....I have like a thousand of these back & forths to go through and am running out of time, did anyone answer your question? I'm having mine out this Friday, the 21st and would like to hear anything you were told. Also -I went to bed last night with a terrible bladder infection and now I fear he won't do the surgery. I go for pro-op tomorrow, Monday, so I'll find out. I'm doing the cranberry juice thing until I see him. Any thoughts on if he'll go ahead or not? Is this the kind of infection they won't allow for surgery? > > > > I am having my saline implants taken out en bloc on November 5th. > What > > can I expect? Guest guest
Hi Sis and Charlotte, Several of the moderators have been out of touch the past few days. . . So if your questions haven't been answered, please get back to us. We'll answer them ASAP! It may be days before I get to the bottom (oldest) messages . . . so don't worry about repeating yourself! Basically, after explant, you can expect to be a bit sore. It's unlikely you'll have much pain. Your breasts may be a bit misshappened until they fluff over the next few months. Don't freak out if they are less than you expect! They will get better!! If you'll wear a snug, but comfortable sports bra 24/7 until healing is well underway, internal scar tissue should help to reduce sagging. You may feel like you're busting with energy. Regardless, remember you've just been through surgery and take it easy. Pamper yourself, eat healthy and drink plenty of non-chloriated water. Most women feel greatly relieved to have the weight of the implants off their chests and report feeling much better. Hopefully your doctor will leave the drains in until you have no significant drainage. The drains are a nusiance, but not bad. Having them removed is easy . . .. Just a gentle tug. It shouldn't hurt. Your doctor will have to be the judge of whether or not you can have surgery following a urinary tract infection. I'm guessing that, since it's still early in the week, the infection will be cleared up before surgery anyway. If you take antibiotics, be sure to offset the damage to the good flora in your body with a healthy amount of probiotics like acidopholis, yogurt, and HSO's like Garden of Life's Primal Defense. If you can think of more questions, let me know. Hugs and prayers, Rogene
Guest guest
- Charlotte Hi. I hope we didn't drop the ball on this. First, I think your doctor would probably still do the explant if your bladder infection is under control by friday--which it should be. Drink plenty of water for sure. As far as what you can expect after explant, that can vary. Most women find the post surgery recovery pretty easy. I know I did. MOst women have drains put in and need to monitor and empty them. Usually you can get the drains removed in a couple of days. They decide when to remove them based on how many cc's of fluid are coming out over a period of time. I had my implants out on a wednesday, had the drains removed on friday, and went home. Usually your breast tissue has been compressed long enough that your breasts look smaller, and perhaps even indented if you were flat to begin with. They have your breasts wrapped tight and bandaged. They will give you instructions on when these should be changed and how long they should be left on. You should have a good supportive bra to bring withyou that you can put on over the bandages. It is important to keep the tissue compressed for a time for best healing. The doctor's office will give you instructions. It will take your breasts several weeks to several months to completely fluff back out and look like they will end up looking. Most people feel better after surgery--often finding that symptoms either are less or some have disappeared. NOt always. Some experience no improvements right away. It is important not to get upset if you are not improving at the same rate as someone else. Everyone is different. How quickly your symptoms start to disappear is no indication of whether you will get better. MOst women find that getting better is not a straight path. We go forwards, then backwards, etc. Some women will feel great for awhile, have symptoms return, think they are not getting better, but then start improving again. It is all so individual. The most important thing is to relax, and whatever happens, know that it is probably within the realm of normal progress. If you experience anything unusual, make sure to call your doctor. Good luck with your surgery. It is on my birthday, so I am sure to remember and be praying for you! Guest guest
Didn't your Dr show you any pictures of his work? Does he do explants and lifts often? Personally I would never let anyone touch me that did not have pictures of there work to show me but no, most women that get thier implants removed are not deformed. I came out looking way better than before. Of course it takes time they will be somewhat funny looking even with the lift at first. IT takes time for them to fluff out and look normal. However, I would not stress as they do look better and better over time. Still I would ask about photos of your Dr's work. To be on the safe side. I would suggest looking into a few opinions if he doesn't have any photos of his work, but that is just me. I wish you the best , " hubbyand3blessed " <tphillips25@n...> wrote: > > I am having my saline implants taken out en bloc on November 5th. What > can I expect?
