Guest guest
Leah Usually when there is no lapse in coverage the pre-exist clause is waiver. The patient will have to get a letter from his HR Department verifying he had coverage. Beverly Antoine, LPN Transplant Financial Coordinator LSUHSC Lafayette, LA bantoi@... If a patient has a group health plan through their employer and they get a new plan through another company, and there is NO lapse in coverage, can the new policy put them in a pre-existing clause? thanks for any help anyone can provide! Guest guest
Keep in mind they may have a transplant waiting period which is separate from the pre-existing waiting period...pre-X may be waived but I've never seen a transplant waiting period get waived....next year in WA State a new law/rule will be in place stating that if the employer changes to a new plan (not the patient's choice to change) they cannot have a new transplant waiting period if the previous transplant waiting period was satisfied. Guest guest
I believe that if the company has over 50 employees and there is no lapse in coverage, I have never seen a pre-existing for the employee, and personally none of my employer coverage has put a pre-existing on any of my dependants or myself. Guest guest
Here in Oregon, Regence BCBS of Oregon and Providence Health Plans will waive txp wait period IF the creditable coverage also had a txp benefit of similar scope. The txp benefit wait can be as much as 24 months here, whereas other pre-x are typically 12 months at most. -----Original Message-----From: TxFinancialCoordinators [mailto:TxFinancialCoordinators ]On Behalf Of TinaSent: Monday, September 28, 2009 12:19 PMTo: TxFinancialCoordinators Subject: RE: Tennessee Insurance I believe that if the company has over 50 employees and there is no lapse in coverage, I have never seen a pre-existing for the employee, and personally none of my employer coverage has put a pre-existing on any of my dependants or myself.
