Guest guest
Cherie, You'll do fine! . . . I can't think of a woman here who hasn't done much better with their implants OUT! It may take some detoxing . . . some careful diet management . . . but once you get them out, it's freedom! Hugs and prayers, Rogene
Guest guest
Cherie who is your explanting surgeon? I am sure you will do fine. Just make sure your getting them out en bloc with complete capsulectomy and it will be great. I would not get frustrated if you don't feel better right away, for me it was back and forth about 1 year to 18 months but now, gosh I am brand new. I just turned 41 about 2 months ago and look and feel ( i think) younger and better than in my 20's! Maybe cause I take better care of myself too thouh. well hang in and know you have all or our thoughts and blessings In , " Cherie " <cheriesut@y...> wrote: > > Hi - I wanted to share that I am scheduled for surgery on October > 19th. Guest guest
Hi Cherie! I am having my implants removed on the 19th as well. Please feel free to keep in touch with me before and after surgery since we will be going thru the same thing on the same day! I will be in Atlanta that week with Dr. Kolb. Who is doing your explant? Well I honestly believe that we will both feel better after explant. I have the same fears as you do but our over all health is what really matters. You should be proud of yourself for having the courage to do this. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Good luck to you! Hugs....Jenna > > Hi - I wanted to share that I am scheduled for surgery on October > 19th. I am pretty nervous and wonder if I will get well after they > come out. Guest guest
Hi Lesley - congratulations on your surgery. I was supposed to go on the 5th of October but postponed it until Nov 7th. It's good to hear your feedback. Keep us posted on your progress. I'm going to school full time and trying to concentrate on my classes has been extremely difficult, but if I remind myself that this is temporary and a solution is coming, hopefully I can focus a little better. ----- Original Message -----From: "lesley daley" Subject: Re: Scheduled for explantDate: Sun, 09 Oct 2005 11:09:31 -0000Hi Cheriei have just had my explant surgery [thur 6 oct] and it was not as badas i expected it was sore and uncomfortable but nothing i couldnt copewith today sunday im up dressed and feeling much better i dont knowhow long it will take for my symtoms to go but at least the implantscant do any more damage now there in a plastic bag good look with yoursurgery cherie you will be fine im sure.lesley --- In , "carrie41_fun" <carrie41_fun@y...> wrote:>> Cherie who is your explanting surgeon? Guest guest
Thanks for the encouragement - I sure do need it. I am having trouble concentrating and think about the upcoming surgery 24-7. After I got the BA, I ended up being self conscious most of the time, walking around hunched over and wearing baggy shirts, so dumb, huh? Ive been looking in my closet thinking how free I will feel after getting these things out to wear fitted clothing, just being " myself " again. It is defintely an emotional roller coaster to get mentally prepared, as well as physically prepared. I'm really glad you are all out there to encourage and support, and hope I can do the same for someone else. Hope you start feeling well again soon. Guest guest
Cherie - how long ago did you have your BA? Mine was 5 months ago. Started feeling terrible within a few weeks. I remember looking in the mirror after the bandages came off and I just couldn't adjust to what I saw - still feel that way. I hated searching through my drawers and closets for something to wear, and still don't feel excited about getting dressed - and I was always totally into fashion. I remember going on one of the pro-implant sites and thinking "this is one club I wish I had never joined". I saved my old bra's, because I just had the feeling I'd be explanting - glad I saved them. ----- Original Message -----From: Cherie Subject: Re: Scheduled for explantDate: Sun, 09 Oct 2005 18:45:23 -0000Thanks for the encouragement - I sure do need it. Guest guest
I had it done 8 1/2 years ago. I didn't feel sick right away, and if it weren't for all of you here in the support group, I don't know if I would have known why I have been so ill. No doctor would tell me that they could be the reason, most saying that they could NOT be my problem. My pain started 3 years after I got them. I started having stabbing chest pains, when it was real bad, it would be in my neck and between my shoulder blades. It would go away once in a while, but mostly it has been with me for a long time, 1 1/2 years of unrelenting pain right now. I had been diagnosed with fibromyalgia until a CT scan showed significant inflammatory arthritis in my sternum and clavicle. I don't know if I am just distracted thinking about surgery right now, but my mind is a mess. I keep driving right past turns (repeatedly), I think I might have walked out of a store today without my change ($15) and just can't get it together in many other ways - becoming very obvious to my husband who keeps telling me to pay attention. I never had problems in my breasts themselves really, but I am pretty convinced that they are my problem. Did you have your explant yet? I ended up telling you A LOT more then you asked for. Guest guest
Cherie - share all the information you'd like - it's definitely helpful for you to let it out, and it's helpful to those of us who are either sick, healing, or here to support eachother. I'm sorry you've had to live with these problems, and I'll definitely be thinking about you on 10/19. It helps me to stop dwelling on my own pains when I hear other people's stories. ----- Original Message -----From: Cherie Subject: Re: Scheduled for explantDate: Mon, 10 Oct 2005 00:11:08 -0000I had it done 8 1/2 years ago. Guest guest
That cognitive dysfunction is all part of it....been there, done that. It will get better and better after explant, although there are times when you feel like you have totally lost your mind! It will come back to you, be patient. Guest guest
Cherie, Please relax . . . you can drive yourself crazy worrying about the cognitive problems . . . which only makes things worse. I see it as dropping a chunk of information - the problem is that I didn't know I had dropped it until it was pointed out to me! I saw a psych test administered on TV that perfectly demonstrated the problem. They have a name for it that I forget right now! I couldn't do the simplest thing right. Couldn't sequence anything! Got lost on the simplest routes . . .. Threw an anniversary party for my sis and husband, and forgot to tell them! The physical pain is one thing, but the cognitive problems are so humilating! . . . You will get better with your implants out. It may not happen immediately. But if you get on a good diet and do some detoxing, you should feel like new before long. Please tell your husband to be patient. You're doing the best you can right now. . . It will get better. Hugs and prayers, Rogene --- glory2glory1401 <glory2glory1401@...> wrote: > That cognitive dysfunction is all part of it....been > there, done > that.
