I know you will be flooded with mails to help so in all of them I hope you find a solution!

Another Good Post Eve more things I missed and forgot about now that I am an old woman and wear as little touching clothing as possible LMAO! I forgot all about them tight fittin jeans days! But they do play heck with a yeast infection! Same with the panties! But hey I got the yogurt part down LMAO! Another part I never gave a thought to is a bath NO BUBBLE BATHS when you have a yeast infection and clean your tub with a strong cleaner if you take a bath. During these times a shower is the easiest way to get around being re-inffected by a tub but hey don't even set down to shave!!!!!!!!!!!

Is there ANYTHING docs can do about the Yeast Infections that I can't get rid

of?? Doc gave me Diflucan, didn't work. Doesn't chronic yeast go along w/ fibro

sometimes?

Also, and i'm sorry about the subject matter, does having fibro affect periods?

I'm 16 and i've never had one. I'm really happy about that, but i'm starting to

get concerned.

Hi Lacy,

From what I've been reading Yeast infections are a REALLY common thing with Fibro. I will call my Obgyn tomorrow if you would like and see what he gives me. Because sometimes there is an infection that poses as yeast but isn't. Also you might want to be careful not to give it to your partner if you are sexually active. Because you could just be passing it back & forth, That has happened with my husband and I. If it keeps up maybe your partner should be checked also.

Hope this helps

I don't know if fibro directly affects periods -- although I imagine the cramps and mood swings FEEL worse because of the fibro.

For the yeast infections -- if you are sexually active and have a yeast infection that is not responding to diflucan, it's time to ask the doctor to do some STD screenings to see if you have something else going on. In the meantime -- switch to cotton panties instead of nylon -- the cotton crotch is NOT enough. If you're wearing a lot of tight jeans or nylons, wear something looser for a while. Cut way down on the sugar and sodas. Eat more yogurt, and once the doctor assures you that yes, this IS just a yeast infection, you can (excuse the gross image) pack PLAIN uncolored unflavored yogurt vaginally at night. It helps restore the proper balance and relieves the itchies.

16 and no period is the high end of normal but it's still in the normal range. If it's worrying you, then talk to your doctor about it.

Hope this helps --

Eve

Oh, I've never had a partner, lol, i'm just 16, butthanks. My mom, who also has

fibro, told me about that, so if I ever get one, i'll be careful about that,

because I know how much trouble I have w/ it, I wouldn't want to do that to

someone else.

That would be really nice, if you could find out what your OB prescribed,

because i'm desperate. The stuff in the store didn't do anything, Diflucan

didn't do anything, but if there's something else, i'd love to hear about it,

because i'm at the end of my rope. Thanks for all your help, and thanks for

replying.

OK, great! Thanks, I appreciate it. Nope, not s. active, so that couldn't be it,

but i'm gonna' try to make those changes, because I can't take it anymore. I'd

heard that yogurt helps, I can't stand the taste of it, but if it may help.

Plus, I don't have to taste it :)

Thanks for all ya'll's support,

Lacey

I'm sorry to hear you're sick, that really stinks, but I think it's nice you're

still maintaining the group, and thanks for replying to my post.

About yogurt, someone else said that would be the best thing to do. I read

somewhere that you aren't supposed to douche because it makes you more conducive

to infection, but i'm gonna' do it because I need some relief.

Thanks for caring,

Lacey

If you don't like the taste of yogurt, you can take acidophilus capsules instead and it will do the same thing. For that matter, you can insert them vaginally. Isn't as soothing as the yogurt but still helps with the yeast.
