Guest guest
This is a topic near and dear to me ascare coordination is one of my primary jobs and I think to do it well improves care and reduces costs I think that any recurring testing comes under " tickler " INrs, mammo etc also follow ups thing s like you gave out fobt cards BUT DID YOU GET THEM BACK? I chose my emr becaue it does this easily and it does it well Other things need to be trouble shooted but ticklers are painless and reliable Say an INR? I report it. I call them then if needed in one month I stick on for June 25 2010 i say inr dueSo it doesnt get lost... for next years mammogram and fobt etc I stick on MAy 26 2011 the remineder " mammo due " for rnany or all recall issues I use it for progress reports on how they are doing after being ill or for a change of insulin I may say call me in a week and I stick in the tickler a date 2 weeks form now saying " progress report re dm " ( given them a week's leeway) Ticklers are the way that patietns do not get lost I do not have to worry about MAry smiths dm because I know that at the time of the visit I stiuck her in the tickler file for 3mo later " visit due " Does that help?I think Amazing charts may not do this as easily as se othe r EMRS and i think that you Myria have AC Wbat are people using as tickler files? Guest guest
Boy do I feel like I'm knee high to a grass hopper! I looked on AC and sure enough it has reminders and I can set the date they are due! It's perfect for patient care. Thanks, Jean! Guest guest
Our EMR has a recall system. We simply put in the date that the patient is due to come back next. Typically for 6-12 month recalls. We print a report every month of who is supposed to be coming in that month and if they haven’t already made an appointment themselves, we call them or send them a message on relayhealth. The one thing I wish the EMR would do is that when we are scheduling an appointment for a patient and the patient has a recall date, I would like it to prompt “Is this for XXX visit due on MM/DD/YY?” I’ve put that request in to the developers….
