Cheryl,

MRSA has become a scary thing. It is Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcal Aureus. It requires the real heavy-hitter antibiotics. It used to be a not so common bug. Even when I was in residency it wasn't all that frequently seen, but in the last several years it has become more and more common. The other physicians I talk to here in Houston are seeing more of it. ly, I get a little worried at times. Many hospitals and clinics have it but I tend to think it's just part of the environment now, I could be wrong. But, I think in large part it's due to the frequency people take antibiotics andthe increasing resistance of the bacteria to the antibiotics. BAsically, the bugs have outsmarted the meds. I always tell people to avoid taking antiobiotics for basic things (people always want an antibiotic for a cold but it won't do any good!) Also, because I think this bug will likely become more and more resident in the

communities, for anyone- chilidren included, who gets a cut, scratch, etc. wash it very well, cover it, wash your hands. It's just good prevention.

I will pray that your infection heals quickly. One thing I have seen alot of is how well people do if they believe in the treatment. DO you believe that it will help you. I think the power of our minds over our bodies can be remarkable. They are connected after all! Secondly, do you believe that God can heal you? Ask Him. I will be asking Him for you as well. He does heal. It may not be overnight, but I can tell you some stories.

God Bless you.

I went to primary last week and was told they don't treat MRSA, so they referred me to an ID Clinic. I still haven't gotten blood cultures or started on IV antibiotics yet. Healthcare in this city is just amazing to me. I may never know for sure, where/when I got this infection, although there is a good chance I got it in surgery, since it is mostly a hospital bug. I wonder though, because these are the same symptoms I've had for years. I'm praying that after I finish with the treatment for this that my symptoms & sores will all be gone!Thank you Rogene & Patty for your kind words.Cheryl

That has been my experience as well, regarding faith, and I strongly

believe that our spiritual healing is as important than our physical

healing when it comes to the total picture.

Thanks for your valuable input!

Thanks for sharing this important information!

I'm very concerned that overuse of antibotics is

responsible for many fungal infections too. And that

the medical community is not picking up on these

problems.

My sis and husband travel overseas reguarly . . . They

buy antibiotics without prescription that they

self-administer . . . My sis is acting really strange

.. . . but nobody can tell her anything!

Rogene

Oh Rogene, that is so sad. Too many antibiotics can really mess up your

system. I have not taken one since the mid-80's.

Cheryl,

While you're waiting for a go-ahead for antibiotic

therapy, I'd suggest trying Oil of Oregano and/or

Olive Leaf extract. Both have antibacterial

properties. They may not work, but considering what

you're dealing with, if it helps, you're that much

further ahead.

Hugs,

Rogene

There is no doubt that spiritual and also positive outlook has

incredible healing affects. I know that my attitude and faith that I

would be healed is a huge part of where I am today. I just got back my

labs and had the cleanest bill of health in years. I had cholesterol

level of just under 100......that is really good. The Dr was

impressed. My triglicerides are all very low and the only thing that

was slightly off was albumin which is related to the amount of

protient and I know I have been bad lately about not eating enough

meat so....back to eating more protein. Other wise all my labs are

great. Thyroid is back to being great and my hair is long and thick

again and growing like crazy. I have not felt this great in years. I

think better than I did in my early 30's when I think I was in the

best shape of my life (well prior to now)

So I do know the power of positive thinking really works. It feels so

good to be healthy. I just want to feel this way forever. I also love

being able to wear high heels again. SIlly I know, but my heels were

such a mess that it is amazing everyday I wake up and have no pain.

I am truly thrilled and just want to shout it from the rooftops! I

hope that you are happy for me Patty.

Take care
