Guest guest
My favorite herbalist (from curezone) had this to say about repairing Myelin Sheath... " " Neuropathies generally result from myelin breakdown. Elevated glucose is one cause but infection, medications or trauma can also cause it. So the focus is on rebuilding the myelin. Myelin regrows so slowly that it was once thought to not regenerate, but this has since been proven false. Be patient though. The best way to rebuild myelin is with lecithin, fatty acids and B12. Lecithin is best taken as granules. Recommended dose is one tablespoon 3 times daily. You can sprinkle the granules on food or blend in a smoothie. It has a slightly nutty flavor. Fatty acids can be derived from fish oils and nut oils. For fish oil stick to cod liver oil. I don't care for salmon oil due to the high risk of heavy metal contamination. Seed oils include hemp, flax, etc. For B12 I recommend getting a sublingual tablet of methylcobalmin. By using sublingual tablets it bypasses possible absorption problems. I recommend 1 tablet daily under the tongue. If the doctor can find out the cause of the neuropathy I can give you more suggestions. Also you should look in to DL-phenylalanine (DLPA) for the pain. DLPA is a precursor for the body's dopamine, which is our own pain killer. DLPA should be taken on an empty stomach at least 30 minutes before meals. It takes about 2 weeks to kick in, but the effects are long lasting once it kicks in. And it can help wean him off the pain pills. Recommended intake is 1,000mg 3 times daily on an empty stomach. Guest guest
Thank you so much for this information. Is there another form of lecithin besides soy that is effective? What brand would you recommend for sublingual B12? > > My favorite herbalist (from curezone) had this to say about repairing Myelin Sheath... > > " " Neuropathies generally result from myelin breakdown. Guest guest
Another question... I thought phenylalanine was not good for you. Isn't that what is in decongestants and the like? Am I confusing it with something else? I hope so, cause I would like to start on it (along with the other recommendations) ASAP. > > My favorite herbalist (from curezone) had this to say about repairing Myelin Sheath... > > " " Neuropathies generally result from myelin breakdown. Guest guest
hmmm..do not see my other replies.. Has anyone tried dlpa? Jim, have you tried this? I am cautious because it can be used as an antidepressant also, which makes me a wee bit nervous. It does sound too good to be true, really. > > My favorite herbalist (from curezone) had this to say about repairing Myelin Sheath... > > " " Neuropathies generally result from myelin breakdown. Guest guest
I was thinking about putting it into capsules...Yes, I agree it is not the most palatable! Found this on lecithin: The main commercial source of lecithin is soybean oil due to its high content in phosphatides (about 2%). However, lecithin can also be obtained from other vegetable oils such as corn, cottonseed, rapeseed, rice, sunflower, etc. and even from eggs, an animal source. Guest guest
Hi , This is what Dr. Ray Shaelian MD has to say about Phenylalaine... http://www.raysahelian.com/phenylalanine.html >>>>Q. In the last issue of your newsletter you talk about the side effects of aspartame and you mention that phenylalanine is one of its ingredients. Is phenylalanine dangerous? can phenylalanine cause cancer? A. A Phenylalanine supplement in high doses may cause heart rhythm abnormalities and anxiety. Long term studies are not available to tell us whether phenylalanine supplements taken for prolonged periods cause cancer.<<<< Here is probably the most sensible answer about the safty or not of Phenylalaniine... Appears only those with PKU need worry, others are okay... The only other concern is this building up in high levels in the body may become toxic... I would think anyone using Phenylalanine and also drinking aspartame might face a serious problem with toxic overload... http://mental-health.emedtv.com/phenylalanine/dangers-of-phenylalanine.html >>>Final Thoughts Unless you have PKU, phenylalanine is just a necessary amino acid that should not cause any worry or fear. The presence of phenylalanine in aspartame should not be reason enough to avoid aspartame (after all, if you want to avoid phenylalanine, you will need to cut out a wide range of natural foods as well). Remember that just because phenylalanine can be dangerous if it builds up to extremely high levels in the body, this does not mean that normal intakes are also dangerous. Many necessary and beneficial chemicals or substances in the body are toxic at very high levels.<<< Gook thinking ... Guest guest
Jim, Thanks for taking time to share your lyme recovery " testimony " to this point. If I understood you correctly you stopped rifing in Jan. 2009 because it didn't seem to make any difference in how you were feeling. Is that right? Do you think the MMS will provide all the lyme killing assistance your body needs and do you know of anyone who has gotten back to 100% just using MMS as their killing modality for borrelia? Guest guest
, Yes, I am aware of that. But, I guess my main concern about the Phenylalanine is the effect of it being an anti-depressant. Salt/C does not alter moods. (I know it was just an example). b > > > > > > > > > > My favorite herbalist (from curezone) had this to say about repairing > > Myelin Sheath... > > > > > > > > > > " " Neuropathies generally result from myelin breakdown.
