Hi Rogene,

Thanks for the reply. You always have such good advice. I am a little disapointed only because I have finaly found a doctor who believes implants cause problems(THANK YOU GOD!) and she does feel she can help me, but told me I have no muscle tone. On a scale of 1-10, 10 being the best, my muscle tone is a 3! And 2 years ago I was so strong and toned. I just hope some day I can exercise again pain free. I have been working with a naturopath for almost 9 months, acupuntureist, deeptissue massage, some yoga and trying to eat much healthier. All of these things have deffinitly helped me get better but they are also getting very expensive. And I have found a wonderful new Dr. who I really believe is going to help. I guess I should just start slowly like you said. Thanks again,

Hi ,

It really sounds like you are doing all the right things. Are your doctors

helping you to detox? That is what really made a huge difference with my

fibro pain. I mentioned in another email a minute ago, that water aerobics

might be a great way to ease back into exercise. It is amazing how quickly

muscle tone is lost when exercise is stopped. Don't worry, it will come

back and if you trained previously, you do have muscle memory. :)

It sounds like you are getting really good massages!

The doctor who DX'd me said that was the best therapy

I could get! If you'll get a doctor's prescription for

theraputic massage, you can at least take it off your

income tax!

There's a difference between excercising with pain and

being sore afterwards. When your muscles are so very

tight, yet weak, you could get hurt if you go at it

too vigorously. Work on stretching your muscles and

building strength. Swimming pool exercise is

wonderful! There's a difference between swimming and

water aerobics though . . . Water aerobics will target

more muscles - if done right.

Physical therapy can be great - depending on your

therapist. I hate it when they ask me what I think I

should do! Duh! If I knew that, I'd stay at home and

do it!

I'm afraid physical therapists don't have time to give

good massages though! They should give you a sheet of

instructions for exercises to do at home. Doing these

reguarly will help speed you along signficantly.

You might swap notes with Molly. She's beginning an

exercise program too.

It's very important to get deep sleep! . . . In one

study, they found they could induce FM symptoms in

anyone by depriving them of sleep long enough!

Hugs and prayers,

Rogene

Hi Rogene,

I am def finitely going to try swimming. I just wish I could get insurance to cover some of my the treatments that really seem to help! I have been paying for all of the massage, acupuncture and supplements out of pocket. It really adds up! I saw my naturopathic Dr. today and he wants to do a lymphatic exam to see if there are any blockages or inflammation of my lymph system. Have you ever heard of this or know of anyone who has done this?

Hi ,

There are places that offer swimming or strengthening exercises in a pool as

part of physical therapy that might be covered by your insurance. I was on

a waiting list for one. The list was so long that I never got in but my

insurance would have covered it.

You can save yourself a doctor visit by using a

rebounder (a mini trampoline). It's a gentle way of

exercising, and good at helping lymph drainage. It

certainly can't hurt! Also, you could learn how to

massage yourself for most lymph nodes. . . Do a

websearch for " How to Lymph Massage "

I tried acupuncture myself. I felt a boost after the

first treatment, but then no change after that. I

haven't heard of many women getting much help with

acupuncture.

The things that seem to help most are diet, fungal

treatment, massage, detoxing and exercise.

Which supplements are you taking?

Hugs,

Rogene
