Guest guest
When I was little (5 or 6), she would use things like repeated abandonment to get her way - i.e. " You don't deserve a mother like me. Let's see how long you can survive without me. " Which was very effective for a young child. And, of course, the rages would always work, too. ........my nada would " park " me in a store and then go shopping. She always bragged about how she could sit me down and how I would not move " for hours on end " Good Lord, what terrible things she must have said to me so that I would not move for such a long period of time. Then when I was a little older, maybe 10 to 12, she would withdraw her " love " , use the silent treatment for days on end, and intersperse that with raging. ...........my nada is Queen of the Silent Treatment. Her rages were what I call the " twitch " . She would stomp, slam cabinet doors, and twitch when she walked. I cannot really explain the body language on paper, I called the mannerisms " The Twitch " . It is so comforting to know that I am not alone in this zoo of life. take care, mg
