Guest guest
I have just realised in the last week after reading about 5 BPD books I got off Amazon that my mother has borderline personality disorder. I have been searching and searching for answers for about 20 years now (I am 32) and I am just amazed and shocked that there are other people out there who have gone through similar experiences. I really thought I was the only one. What an incredibly reassuring thing to come here and read all your messages. It is Mother's Day today and I will make the obligatory phone call (she probably will not answer the phone) - I have sent a card - but like some of you have mentioned - I have never been able to buy one with a message already in it as they are so irrelevant to her - I always buy a blank one. I am going to try to see if my mother will accept my mentioning to her that I believe she has BPD and should get treatment and that I will go with her if she does (although I live in another country - main reason I left was to get away from her). Have any of you had this conversation and have any of you been successful? Have any of your BPD mothers gone for specific BPD treatment? So encouraging to hear your stories of your painful journeys in life with a BPD mom.
