Guest guest
Evening lovely ladies! I treated myself this afternoon and took in the new Bridge movie. May I just tell you that it was just as funny and touching as the first one? As a 40-something singleton (I LOVE that term) I could so relate to Bridget and her man issues. My only issue with Hollywood (and I had this before) is that this woman is NOT FAT! I guess by a certain segment of society she is...but dang, is an 8 or a 10 FAT?! I remember the fuss when Zellweger gained weight for the first movie (she needed some weight!) and see that it's resurfaced yet again. Sigh...no wonder so many women in this country have eating disorders of one kind or another! We seem to be judging ourselves against some form of weird " perfection " that 1) doesn't exist and 2) as the movie proved yet again, doesn't need to in order to get the right man for you! All of us can relate to the term " fat " a lot more than an actress gaining 10-15 lbs can. It just makes me wonder how many of us (in general) buy into that myth that the thinner you are the better your life will be?
