Guest guest
Hi Abijann ( & anyone else who cares LOL) Thank you sweetie for the info. I wish it was that easy. With fibro, your muscles not only spasm but spasm up & stay spazzed ! This time it's my back & neck area. It's pinching the nerves going to my arm. Soo...... typing hurts, brushing my hair hurts, you get the drill :-) I'll do anything to get out of doing the dishes LOL ! Treatment is NOT USING IT ARRGGG! hot packs, trigger point therapy ( find the sorest spots & push on them OUCH) then cold packs. Several times a day. oh & dozy muscle relaxers & light stretching. We havin fun yet? I can't figure out how something can hurt, tingle & be numb all at the same time.heh It's a little better, slow but sure ( I keep being bad & using it LOL) that's meeee :-) I feel badly for ignoring you all but I can't type much. Abijann, you take care of you, you're VERY special to all of us ! I love you all & I'll be baaackkkk ! love, tillytitmouse I live in my own little world, they like me there! From: abijann <no_reply > Subject: Tilly To: livercirrhosissupport Date: Monday, February 2, 2009, 3:58 PM Has your hands been feeling any better? Do you have to wear a brace or anything to keep your hands in a certain position? If your hands get very sore, they have a machine that has a special kind of wax in it and it is temperature melted so it doesn't burn your hands. You dip your hands into it and let it on your hands and the warmth of the wax really will feel wonderful. People who have arthritis use this. The wax peels off then and you can place it back into the machine for reuse. It also makes your skin on your hands feel great. They used this at the rehabilitation center on my hands and I could not believe how good it felt. They have the machine at our Walmart for about $30 and the wax is about 7 to 8 dollars. I never bought the machine, I just heated it in an old pan I had on hand and made sure it wasn't too hot before inserting my hand. This one on the web is awful in price but it would give you an idea of what they look like. http://www.therabat hpro.com/ products/ tbpro.php

Guest guest
, I'm sorry your Fibro has flared up so much. I feel for you. Mine has reared it's ugly head in my left arm again. Some of my problem is from slipped discs in my crevical spine and narrowinh in the passageways that the nerves run through from your spine to your arms- I forget what they are called. I just wanted you to know I can empathize with how you feel1 Love,Jill We don't remember days, we remember moments. Guest guest
- your description hurts, tingles and is numb describes my little fingers and feet. In my case it is caused by neuropathy, damage to the nerves. When people ask me what neuropathy is, what it does to me, it is almost impossible to tell them. Since my bypass surgery, I have had it constantly in my left little finger and partially in the one next to it, to the point that I am not able to use it. And it feels cold unless it is really warm in the area, then sometimes it feels as if it is burning up. I have had to relearn how to type, using only four fingers on the left hand, and when I play the piano/organ, I have to adjust the music to play with only four fingers. Hope yours heals up soon. Guest guest
Diane if you are careful about what you drop, sometimes it can be helpful. [?]All the pads of my fingers are almost if not numb. So, I drop a lot of things. Keys, at least they make a noise when they drop. But, the benefit comes when I drop a glass and then get to buy new ones. Our dishwasher doesn't work very well, and leaves a cloudy film on glass glasses. So, if I break one, I get some new ones without that film. Jan H On Tue, Feb 10, 2009 at 5:56 PM, diane chandler wrote: > Oh, Barby, we just have too much in common! I ruptured C5 taking a > shower! Guest guest
Jan, Try putting a couple of tablespoons of white vinegar in your dishwasher and that should take the film away. Guest guest
Lyncia - I have done that before, didn't help much, it just doesn't drain right. We need a new one. But it isn't mine, so not mine to replace. Will try again though. Guest guest
I use a metal folding chair in the shower. After about 3 years of using it off and on, it is getting very rickety, squeaks every time I sit on it. So, I plan on buying a shower chair. Want one with a back I think so it will be easier to get up when I am done with my shower. Luckily, we don't have a shower in the tub, just a flat floored shower with a lip to keep the water in, and rather small too, so I can usually catch myself on a wall or the chair if I get in trouble. Does anyone have a shower chair, give me some ideas of which ones are worth buying, prices vary widely. Guest guest
I have a shower chair. I bought it walmart, it cost around 20 dollars! And I totally love it. Both Ardis and Sharon have been showered on it. It has a back, and is very nice in that shower when you are not too steady on the feet. I originally got it when I weighed 350 to use whilke playing my drum set. I did not want to invest in a drum throne, they cost hundreds, only to bust it, so I thought this shower chair will hold me. I still use it for playing drums, but my drums are packed. I bought Sharon a wheel chair at walgreens last week. It cost only 120 dollars, and it is purple, and folds up nicely. Maybe I can talk her in to taking it to the pain doc apointment tommorow. Love, BObby. Guest guest
I had a shower chair before my transplant. I was too tired and weak to stand up for the whole shower. Sorry, I don't know what it was called or where we got it, but it only cost about $30. My father 'N law has it now. We have a tiny little shower with a flat floor and a lip too. Sorry, I couldn't be of more help. Guest guest
Thanks guys, I had looked online, and the price range was from 20 to 100 or more. Don't want to spend more money than I need to, sounds like the lower range ones do the job and stand up for awhle. Guest guest
It is an awesome deal. The brand name is " Medline ultralight transport chair " . It kind of folds up. The arms fold down, and the chair acordions of course. There are no wheels to use to wheel your self, you have to scooch your self with your feet, but then it takes quite a bit less room. Love, Bobby. long life, old age, everything good-Apache prayer ________________________________ To: livercirrhosissupport Sent: Thursday, February 12, 2009 4:09:31 PM Subject: Re: Tilly Bobby, you say a wheel chair in purple, for 120.00 Might get that just to sit around the house until/if I need it. Guest guest
We have a local thrift store that loans hospital beds, wheelchairs, shower chairs, walkers etc.. for free, you just have to return it when you are done. Also our Senior Center and Hospice does the same thing. Not sure if other cities do that, but it sure was a help to us with mom.
