An Autoimmune Package - my new identity

Well I saw the new rheumatologist. She asked if I was in litigation and I said

no. I did say I

was considering the settlement. She then promptly told me she does not like

lawyers

because they 'ruined' her profession. She asked me what I and my husband did.

Um.

Maybe I should have taken the 5th. We don't much like doctors either, so we're

even.

Harumph. I said I used to be an engineer, & was that any better? She said she

didn't like

them either. Charming doctor.

After we got off on that great start, she told me that she does believe that

silicone

implants can cause autoimmune illnesses. That was a little better. Then she

tsked and

tsked and told me I had all these rashes that I never even noticed. She thinks

I have

'overlap' collagen vascular disease, lupus and polymyositis (whatever that

is...I am

googling it). She poked and prodded, and concluded that I do have fibromyalgia,

as well.

She said I am just an autoimmune package.

I guess that is better than a lawyer.

So she has me set up to take 13 different tests, and lung xrays. I will stay on

plaquenil,

and meds I am taking now. SHe loaded me up with booklets on lupus and

fibromyalgia.

And insisted that she weigh me. That was enough to make me hate her forever.

I don't want to take more tests. I am sick of tests. Of all shape size and

form.

Other than that, she is fine, and I agreed to an appointment in 3 weeks.
