Lizzy, after seeing the attrocities that my nada and foo have

committed with regards to our pets, I can say with confidence that

your decision not to have pets that you feel you can't care for at

this time is the MOST HUMANE decision. You are in no way cold or

uncaring as your sister seems to imply.

My brother and I have been begging my parents to take their horrifying

pets to the vet for some time, even if they don't want to pay to heal

them to just have them put out of their misery. My nada likes to act

like we are awful and insensitive because we would kill our pets. But

here's the thing: if they were my pets, they would probably not be in

the state they are in in the first place. And if you can't afford to

give your pets medical care, you shouldn't have them. Sorry, I'm

probably ranting, but I just couldn't agree with you more and the

state of my parent's pets (which were once my pets as a child) is

something that has me really PO'd.

And your sister's comments seem to me to be nothing but a pathetic

attempt at projection onto you of her lack of compassion towards

animals. Shame on her!
