Guest guest
Hi Robyn: Today was a very bad food day.....I just couldnt eat, was too upset this morning. But I ate dinner made a turkey taco on low carb tortilla. And had a protein shake this morning. I'm almost done with my water for today, by the end of the night I should have 74 ounces in. And yes I went to Curves and exercised and guess what? This month I lost 10.5 inches total, woohoo. I'm 3 1/2 months post op, too early to fal back into old habits. YES. I have no appetite because I am sick and fell back on my old habit of a coffee drink as a meal. I am also kinda depressed because I am very swollen and have edema. Puffy like a blowfish so I don't want to eat.I look like hell and feel enormous. I have no food in the house because I am afraid to eat. There are 2 bags of Sugar Free Milano cookies in the tire well of my SUV because I was weak and bought them on impulse at Target Sunday night. I am afraid to bring them in the house. Today was a bad food day for me. > Robyn
Guest guest
Let's see I had 1/2 decaf, 1/2 reg coffee with sweetener (about 16ozs...I HAVE to have coffee in the AM or I am a biatch!). One slice of bacon. A Zone Bar. My protein drink (Proplet with Tangerine crystal light), tuna with salad and fat free/low/carb, etc salad dressing. TONS of water! Dinner is going to be a salmon filet maybe. My stomach has been bothering me all day so I don't know about food right now. I did my Sansone walk away the lbs with my workout buds (2 miles in 30 mins!). We've dubbed ourselves the Hallelujah Girls (there's a part of one tape where we do kickbacks and raise our hands in thanks--hallelujah! LOL) I am 2 yrs and some months out and nope, no old eating habits. I probably get 64 ozs and more in everyday. I did talk to the doc's office and no, they didn't test me for anemia...so I call back tomorrow to find out where and when. I was kinda blah today--I think the stress from the change of duties is bad and I'm not eating over it just PISSY. LOL...I'm getting tired of being bitched at and told my boss that today. So we'll see how the rest of the week goes! > > Hi all! > > Kinda curious. Guest guest
Umm Missy You need to find you some protein somewhere. You are SURE you're post menopausal? I swear that you sound like a woman who's on her period! > > > > I have no appetite because I am sick and fell back on my old habit > of a coffee drink as a meal. Guest guest
Today I promised myself to be compliant. So far, Breakfast: A Cinnamon Crunch Protein Bar and Protein Hot Cocoa, Lunch: Apple with some peanut butter and protein bar, Snack: Munster cheese, not sure what I'm going to have for dinner yet. I have my support group tonight in Garden Grove at 7:00. I've had about half of my liquids, been very good with my vitamins and NO DIET COKE for 4 days!!! That is my goal...to absolutely give up the carbonation. I know it's not good for me. --- Robyn wrote: > > Hi all! > > Kinda curious. Protein Crunch Bar for breakfast, after my COFFEE 2 Protein balls made from scratch for lunch, snack: 1 piece of wheat toast and 1 oz of cheese Dinner will be Salade Nicoise Snack (maybe) SF/FF pudding, made with FF milk > Are you consuming the recommended 64 ounces of fluids? Mostly, but not always. I could do better. > How far out are you? 14 months > Did you exercise? Nope. I've been a real slacker of late. Groan. I know how important this is...and I'm starting back to the gym next week, I swear! (Please pester me if I don't!) > > Did you fall back into an old eating habit? Well, I sometimes eat bread or pasta now, which I didn't do for a whole year. Nevertheless, my weight seems to stay stable. I'm watching my weight closely, to see what makes the scale go up or down. I do want to stay where I am, which is what my doctor says is ideal for me (124.5 lbs). So far, so good; I've not gone over 126 since getting down to my goal weight. I don't, by the way, eat sugar. Guest guest
Robyn, So you know, edema and swelling can be caused by low protein (albumin) levels. You are going to get a lecture from me now (want it or not here it comes! BRACE YOURSELF lol)...food is your friend hun. You need some help to work through your food issues still it sounds like. You just need to learn not to let it be bigger than you are and to make better choices. Starving youself because you don't have much appetite and are afraid to eat, only makes the metabolism slow down and make the situation worse!! Nothing tastes as good as thin feels..remember it. You are in power of your mind and your choices. Food is not a living object that has the power to pursuade..you use food as an emotional tool like a dependent person to an abuser. Its time you work on that..Im saying all this to you from the depths of love and concern. And hopefully to get you to realize that YOUR MIND has everything it needs now, with the assistance of the surgery, to get what you want out of it. Have I scolded you enough? I love you babe..stop punishing yourself. EAT! Just take control and DO IT! every day it gets easier. I know..when it comes to food, I used it for my coping mechanism too and used it to punish myself when I felt I wasn't being good. Its how I got to be Morbidly obese to begin with. Remember food is not supposed to make you feel good or bad..it is merely the way we fuel our bodies to survive. Eat even if your appetite isn't great because you need to...don't over eat when you don't need to. Make healthy choices..you have done so damn good..why stop now? Ps..get the cookies out of your tirewell and flush the badboys down the toilet. Stop buying them to begin with and they won't torment your mind!! YOU HAVE THE POWER! :-) Big love and hugs, Kat > I have no appetite because I am sick and fell back on my old habit > of a coffee drink as a meal.
