Guest guest
Evening everyone! Whew...had a long day but not too bad of one. All of you name brand ladies...there is a Liz Claiborne outlet in this mall I took my niece to today and OH DEAR LORD THEY HAD DANA BUCHMAN CLOTHING MARKED WAY DOWN BELOW COST!!!!!!! Ok...let me breathe! LOL The outlet is a bare bones type of place that has Liz, , Villager and other Liz brands there--ranging in price from $4.99 to $19.99 (I kid you not). The clothing are first quality, just from last season. I went there a month ago and bought a chocolate brown sweater dress, a red tunic, and a pair of pants that are brand...each piece was $14.99!!! I was dying because I needed to LEAVE...I couldn't afford too many pieces and knowing that I'm still losing I didn't want to go overboard. Well today I was taking my niece Nicci to see " The Incredibles " (very good movie btw) and purposely parked on the side of the mall where I KNEW the outlet was..LOL. In I walk and they had Dana Buchman clothing there...$14.99 and $19.99 EACH FREAKING PIECE! I thought I was gonna have a coronary right then and there! For those who don't know, Dana Buchman designs fabulous clothing that is HIGH END designer. A pair of pants can cost almost $300!!!!! And here they had everything for less than $20 EACH PIECE! I had to try some things on...lol. I almost got a lilac silk sweater that had a cool asymmetrical cut on the top in a 1X (hell yeah!) for $14.99...but it had ink on it and I didn't want to take the chance that the drycleaner couldn't get it out (the price tag was $280.00)! But I did find this great black and white nubbly fabric slim skirt...drumroll please...IN AN EXTRA LARGE!!!!!! My stomach pooches a bit but that's what control top panty hose are for! I couldn't believe it. My niece (who's 5) said it was great and that I should buy it--for $14.99 you better bet I was! I am in shock...I've not worn an XL ANYTHING in at least 20 yrs...no longer than that. And I didn't recognize the lower half of me...I don't have that big ole beastly BUTT I had before. I stood in the tiny makeshift dressing room just cheesing...knowing how far I had come and although I have further to go...an XL skirt tastes pretty damn good right about now! Since we had to walk back by the store to get back to the car (hehe...but I know I walked over a mile today)...I of course had to venture back in. And left right away...they had a beautiful, sexy red skirt that I can't think of anywhere to wear it there for $14.99. It's not work clothing but going out on a hot date with a sexy guy clothing! Sigh...now I just need one of those since I know where to get the clothes for it!!!!! LOL...anyone got a free one?
Guest guest
Oh Alisa - you are a girl after mine own heart! Shopping is my new addiction! I've always loved it but it has never been this good! The Dana Buchman clothes are fabulous and unaffordable for me, so I can feel your joy finding them at the outlet. AND isn't it the best to be fitting into sizes you haven't worn in years? But don't buy too many things - you're gonna be going down in sizes really quickly now especially when you get into more missy things. The size are so much closer together than plus sizes, 5-10 pounds off means going down a whole size. Sorry - no spare sexy guys here, but buy that red skirt and I'm sure you'll find one real soon!! Carol OT: shopping...my favorite pasttime! Evening everyone! Whew...had a long day but not too bad of one. Guest guest
Carol I have always loved shopping, and now it's even more fun! What I think I might do is buy some of the classic pieces in a smaller size that I know I'll wear and hang on to them. Considering that every piece I looked at was originally MORE than $250...they would be investment pieces! I'm reconsidering that skirt!! > Oh Alisa - you are a girl after mine own heart! Guest guest
That's a good idea! I put myself out on a limb during Nordstrom's July sale. That's the one where they bring new stock in for the Fall and put it on sale for 2 weeks. After that it goes back up to full price. I bought myself a tweed jacket in a then way too small for me size 14. I really felt that I was taking a big risk and couldn't envision this thing ever fitting me. Size 14 for me seemed like a ridiculous dream. For the first couple of months I thought I would have to take the jacket back because for some reason I was convinced that my boobs wouldn't get any smaller (LOL!! boy was I wrong about that!). By September the jacket fit beautifully, and now it is too big. I wear an 8/10 on top these days. Because I like the jacket and it is a good quality piece I will have it tailored. Size 14 tailored down to a 10 is doable, where 1X to a 10 isn't. So much for me not believing that I could shrink much more. So Alisa make that investment and BTW you NEED that red skirt!! ;-)) Tee hee! Carol Re: OT: shopping...my favorite pasttime! Carol I have always loved shopping, and now it's even more fun! Guest guest
I think it's the marriage thing. It tends to take the fun out of it. ROFL When you're single and dating and they're " wooing " you, they certainly are on their best behavior. As soon as the I Do's are said, they start playing the wedding march through their butts. Need I say more. :-) Hugs, > > > > You know, sweetie, the guy thing isn't all it's cracked up to be. > > I'd buy the skirt and just wear it for the love of wearing it. Guest guest
LOL Carol you're just bound and determined to make me spend my little bit of change aren't ya? Nothing like trading one addiction for another?!
