I am using the vaginal gel. But I was bleeding so heavy yesterday that I had to

go to the Dr.

I am now taking no E and Prometrium orally just so I can stop bleeding. I had a

biopsy

done also and the sono says that I am about a 14 and the uterous is slightly

inlarged (no

cysts or fibroids). It is probably all because I took too much E w/no P or very

little. I went

off of Aldactone (spiro) about 6 mos ago and I had to take massive doses of E

because that

medication blocks Test and E. I also did not fair well on the transdermal P or

oral P. Right

now if I put an E patch on I hemorage. I just want to stop bleeding and than I

will take E

with the vaginal P in mimimum doses to feel well. Just hope I don't loose the

new hair that

grew back or that the acne doesn't come back.

Karin, just wanted to say, i am soo very sorry about what you're going through..Just like you i was doing high E with no P for a few months...cramps were pretty bad, that's what scared me...then i stopped sleeping at night...at 0.2mg..it's been over 4 weeks..i am miserable to say the least. At this point, forget hair, i just want to be able to sleep...So i started using low P about a week ago, 100mg orally to help me sleep..still couldn't sleep..dropped down E some...slept well for 2 nights, and then last night couldn't sleep again..Don't understand anymore what's going on, but just like you, i am adding P, lowering E and praying for my hair to stay put..Again, so very sorry, and hope the bleeding will stop soon! -bigbird3099 wrote: I am using the vaginal gel. Hi Val,

How long did you bleed for? My Dr. said I could bleed for the next month and it

would not

be unusual.

Hi ,

Right now I am not taking any E (which makes me very unhappy) but every time I

do I

bleed pretty heavy. The weird thing is that I think I am sleeping better w/the P

than w/the

E. I hope to go back and take E again but in smaller amounts and that use the

vag P.

I know what it feels like to walk around like a zombie because of lack of sleep.

Maybe ther

is something to Wiley's book when she talks about certain hormones priming the

receptors

of other hormones. Hope you can figure it all out also.

Pam,

Thanks. Are you taking oral P? Are you taking any other meds besides E and P?

Karin - I have started my crinone gel again last night - it's the

8% - it's a bit too much but I have to stop this bleeding I'm having

due to using more E. I was getting hot flashes like crazy so I

doubled my dose of E and now I'm bleeding. Using P cream

transdermally did NOTHING to help me with stopping the bleeding. In

fact, I'm getting to be less and less a fan of transdermals every

day so now I'm going to try a Vivelle patch and just use vaginal P

for 2 weeks out of the month and see how that goes. What do you

mean when you say that P cream goes down the androgen route?

The Dr explained that maybe due to the 5alpha reductase enzyme that is in the skin. Karin

So Karin, was that Dr. Broyles that told you that??? So maybe if I did my OOTest.orally it wouldn't go to DHT????? hmmmmmm I wonder ??? :)))

It was Dr Shippen (my husband sees him)Karin

WOW for real :)))...........I'm studing his T book for my hubby right now, :)) That's where I saw alot to the info on E blockers, as applied to men. I give him 50mgs. zinc, and has kept his E down, even lowered it. Maybe Shippen would know how to help us too???? How we can get more Test. in us without the DHT effect???? I guess the chin hairs aren't that bad, but be better without them LOL. :))) This is so cool, have you seen him??? I saw he recommended Premarin, but know the book I have is old, he must have figured that BHRT is better by now, LOL. :))

I took 200 mg oral Prometrium for 10 days/month. It took until the third month for things to start moving. I had a 7 - 8 day period then. I've been at this a year and still have heavy periods after the P phase. I stop all E when the flow starts and stay off of it for 5 - 6 days.

I'm now using 50 mg vaginal P for 10 days/month. I'm due for a new ultrasound and have my fingers crossed.

I would assume that if you don't bleed it out, you'll have to have a D & C or ablation or something.

Val

My Dr. said I could bleed for the next month and it would not be unusual.Karin>> If you had a 14 stripe, it probably would be good to bleed it out. I had a> 13 stripe a year ago and was thankful when it finally started shedding.

Hi Pam,

Have you tried adding cytomel(T3) to your thyroid meds. You may be one of those

that

does not convert T4 to T3 well and you might consider that or trying the natural

animal

thyroid. I did much better on the 2 thyroid meds than on just synthroid.

,

I tried using the 4% gel P but it didn't stop the bleeding. I am now trying

prometrium

100mg and so far still bleeding. I meant the P transdermal seems to go down the

androgen pathway (male hormone) the most than either oral or the vaginal. The Dr

explained that maybe due to the 5alpha reductase enzyme that is in the skin.

And so what happens - do you get chin hairs?

As for your bleeding, it's going to take awhile to stop. If you

use the 8% crinone, it's 90 mgs and it's not going to stop

overnight. You need to shed that lining! The prometrium should help

though.

Finally the bleeding has slowed down. I took the P vaginal in the morning and

Prometrium

at night and I have also been taking about 4 Advil because I did read on some

web sites

that for DUB (disordered uterine bleeding) that it can reduce bleeding by 30-50%

it acts as

an anti inflamatory.

Hi Karin,

trying to read up on posts and find your doc saying: " ...alpha reductase

(making too much DHT from exogenous transdermal P)

i s i n your s k i n , i.e. we who have trouble with DHT have it

naturally in our skin ?

This is the first time I see s.o. mentions that in connection to the much

quoted alpha reductase " culprit " .

Did I understand that correctly ?

Love,

Charlotte
