Guest guest
Barb, Hey my name is . I am from NC. I just found out in September that I have this awful disease. I feel like I have had it for years. I knew several years ago something was not right with me. Cause I was so exhausted from a hike I took with my daughter's class. I was hurting so bad. I went to my regular doctor and he ran blood work and it just showed that I had Epstein-Barr but it was in remission. He said that I needed to go to a shrink cause I was crazy cause I was still questioning my body. So, I went to another doctor and she seen that my heart rate was so fast so she put me on a heart monitor and she changed my blood pressure medicine to slow it down. It does some but not that great. I just went on with my body like it was. I was working full time then. After a year or 2 I got the chance to quit so I did. I kept feeling like I was coming down with the flu and so exhausted. Especially after I would exercise. I would have to lay down and take a nap. I would hurt really bad in my muscles. I still do not take anything for pain unless it is advil. I just take that and use heating pads. Fianlly I had to go to a chiropractor and he diagnosed me with Fibro. I was just relieved to have a name. Also, I am having terrible pain in my left hip. He believes that it is the fibro doing that. I am limited to doing anything. He is having me to do exercises and I am taking Mobic. So far it is working the Mobic. I can let you know about the exercises. I would like to try for SS but I don't know if I would be able to. They say it is hard for Fibro patients. I hope this helps you. Please email me back and we can chat. NC -- I AM NEW HERE I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY ANY ONE WONT JUST TELL ME HOW IT WAS IN THE BEGINNING? I HAVE ASKED AND NO ONE HERE TELLS ME. PLEASE CANT SOMEONE OUT THERE EXPLAIN TO ME HOW THEY FELT WHEN THEY GOT THE NEWS AND HOW DID THEY FINALLY COME TO TERMS WITH IT. I READ YOUR HAPPY STORIES AND I WISH I WAS THERE BUT I AM NOT. I WAS SO HAPPY WHEN I FOUND THIS GROUP CUZ I THOUGHT I WOULD GET HELP. I WANT TO KNOW DID YOU ALL CRY EVERY DAY, DID YOU GET PISSED OFF, I AM SO FREAKING ANGRY RIGHT NOW. I AM A NEWCOMER HERE NOT A OLD TIMER AND I WANT SO MUCH TO BE AN OLDTIMER AND OFFER PEOPLE HELP. WHEN I FIRST WENT TO AA TWENTY ONE YEARS AGO PEOPLE TOLD ME THERE STORIES AND THATS HOW I HAVE KEPT SOBER FOR 21 YEARS. I WOULD GO TO THOSE MEETINGS IN THE BEGINNING AND EXPRESS HOW I FELT. SO THATS WHAT I AM DOING HERE. I WILL KEEP COMING BACK CUZ I HAVE NO WHERE ELSE TO GO. THANK YOU ALL FOR LISTENING.ONE DAY AT A TIMEBARB

Guest guest
Also, I am having terrible pain in my left hip. He believes that it is the fibro doing that. I am limited to doing anything. I'm having such terrible pain in my left hip also. Please let me know if you find out anything. I'm going to try and get a cortisone shot there. Thank you, S. Guest guest
Way back in Minnesota days, I had servere pain in the hip, the doctor said it was my sacerialiac (spelling?) and I had a series of cortizone shots right in the spot of pain (nurses held me down for the doctor feared being kicked). They did not help. When diagnosed with FMS I was having the excate same pain. Just as it was then, the pain suddenly appeared and stayed as long as it pleased and the left as suddenly as it had appeared. Personally, I don't recommend it but that is just from my experience and it is how my body responded. I wish you the very best. Norene Thank you, I just asked if anyone thought that cortisone shots could possibly help. I'm going to the Dr. tomorrow and talking about my knee and hip pain. I'm sure I will be getting a cortisone shot in my knee. Anyway, thank you, S.
