Guest guest
Yes, Rogene - MS is a deterioration of the myelin sheathing of the nerve. That demyelination impedes nerve conduction from the brain to other parts of the body. The demyelination shows up as white 'spots' in an MRI of the brain, or c-spine (I had both). Peripheral neuropathy is not caused by MS, though. IT can be caused by diabetes, or by lupus... I have had peripheral neuropathy also - when I first was tested, I knew I had bad carpel tunnel. I was still in law school, and had so much pain I couldn't stand it. I was wearing braces all the time on my wrists. The neuro did 'nerve conduction' tests and told me that I had peripheral neuropathy in all my extremities! I didn't even have foot pain then, and I was stunned. THen he had me go in for tests for MS. A brain scan, a c-spine scan, a spinal tap... And at the same time, a rheumatologist was telling me he thought I had either lupus or sjogrens,. I can tell you that I was getting more and more freaked out. I will look at 'far infrared' - there is just so much, it seems a bit overwhelming. And our finances are limited,. Would insurance cover anything like that? I am going to have to take it a step at a time. Changing my eating habits and some cleanse I want to do first. I appreciate the input and will look into it. > Molly, > > As I understand it, MS is demylination of the nerves, > right? . . . You may benefit from a " far infrared > sauna " .
