Hi Pam,

Since I have gotten my E more stable at

20mg OO E per day, my hair loss stopped, and lots of new hairs are growing in.

Also sore scalp is a low E indicator for

me. This was mentioned in the Hormonally Vulnerable Woman, and it was something

that proved out to be true for me.

Learning the symptoms the hormones

produce high or low for me was key in regulating my doses. I have been at it

around the clock for about 9 months, and I am finally getting it right most

days. I will be retested soon, and I feel confident I will be in good ranges. nne

But last night my hair was falling

out even worse and this morning I have the awful

itching again which

is one symptom I haven't had in a long time. I also

have sore scalp as

well as pubic area

Thanks nne. I am glad things are working out for you.

My problem is-I can't get it right. I am so frustrated. I changed my

regimen for the upteen time 3weeks ago and just today the itching

started back which I haven't had in over a year! My scalp soreness

also comes and goes even when my dosages stay the same. And the

hairloss has never stopped only except when I was on BCpills but

then returned again after 5 months. Instead of my symptoms falling

away one by one they go away and then return unexplainably. It's

like there is no consistency. I am at a loss. Even with an " expert "

I can't get back to my old self. Sometimes I just want to throw

everything away because I am just as miserable as before I started.

But then I carry on.

So you use Estrogen with olive oil? correct?

Thanks so much,

Pam

So you use Estrogen with olive oil? correct?

Yes Pam, I switched all the hormones to OO, so I could regulate them better.

It seemed harder with each hormone in a different preparation. I also apply

them many times per day, so the dose is steadier. That is why I said the

sore scalp was low E, if I noticed that, and applied E, it went away. I

guess a patch you can not say when it releases or not.

I will say I am very tired of going up and down, and applying and monitoring

all the time. I have the T and P down to a manageable 2 times a day, but the

E is dosed every couple of hours. I also take a lot of things that block the

E, thus my high dose. I still am looking for an easier way with it all, but

the benefits I have felt even when they can be fleeting, are worth the

struggle.

When I look back over the last 5 years, I have improved immensely in areas I

had no idea had declined so far. My memory is back! My ability to learn new

things has improved. I am happier, more confident, stronger, and leaner. I

really felt like I was dying before. I think I really was with the hormonal

decline. I feel hopeful, and my fear and anxiety is gone, as long as the E

is there, it all comes right back with the E wears off. I suppose I am

addicted now, but it is only the stuff my body had in the first place. How

could that be a bad thing?

nne,

Can you tell me what your E numbers look like on the 20mgs of E? Do you think the E is the key to getting rid of the anxiety? I can't believe how long I have had this problem and how hard it's been. I"m weaning off the xanex but honestly, I"m about ready to say f*^* it and take more again. And the stupid fears and weird thoughts. I am doing 10mgs of OOE on my wrists, spread out over 4 times per day. My last test was 175. I can't seem to take any P. Never have tried T. Sleep is crappy, memory is gone. I"m so bad I even slur sometimes.

Thanks!

It is not a bad thing it is in fact a lifesaver! I know what it is

like to not feel yourself (for almost 3 years now in fact). I will

think things are heading in the right direction and then they fall

apart again. The patches are suppose to prevent fluctuations but I

know that the day between changes has to cause some drop. I don't

know why it is so difficult for my body to find an equilibrium

between the P and the E. I have to have some P because I still have

an uterus. But my dr. says it is absolutely crucial to have a

minimal of 200 mgs per month to balance the .2 patches, not a

choice. She just divided the dose into 100 daily ones because I am

so sensitive to any changes. But now that's not working either. ??

You probably have discussed it prior to my coming but how did you

come about the olive oil method? I can't imagine where to begin with

that. But I am so thrilled for you! That must be total bliss to find

what really works!

Liz,

I haven’t

tested just yet. It was 112 on 12mg of E in the cream base. I needed more with

the OO drops, but I like it better than the cream.

I know the 112 is

still low. Heck, my E was in the 200’s before I ever took any E.

Anxiety is low E

big time for me. I thought I was going to jump out of my skin all last summer.

Panic and fears increased all fall, now I understand what anxiety is. I stopped

drinking caffeine, nothing helped, except E.

Pam,

I can really relate to this...itching scalp, pubic hair, and eyes! My eyes are very dry and I have even lost some eyelashes. Lost lots of hair and you can see scalp at forehead and top of head and back upper head...down top of back.

I learned about OOE on this group! I started OOE about 4 wks ago after having major problems with the WP E. I am doing so much better and my hair loss has slowed way down. I log all of my phyiscal changes (per my GYN) and we know that 1 wk. before my period the P becomes my "evil Satan" making hades on my body. My eyes burn terribly, hair loss picks up, dryness, and then all of the moods garbage, aches, you know...so, if I spike with OOE during that time I do much better than if I do not.

I use Saw Palmetto, and I went off of it as a test to see if maybe it was a placebo on me...well, I can tell you that for me-that stuff did work quit a bit. While off of it, hair loss went up a lot. When I went back on it, hair loss when down. I do think that since I am so sensitive to T/DHT that I will probably have to go on Sprio or quadruple the SP!

One odd thing...when I am out in the sun my head starts to itch/burn from the heat of the sunlight-same thing if the sun is coming through a window, I can't tollerate the heat on my head! I had antibody tests which showed no autoimmune problems which has to mean that I am ultra-androgen sensitive. I have acne type bumps on my scalp from sebum over doses-I use Neutrogena T-Gel (stinky orange shampoo) for that and it has helped a lot and keeps the scalp cleansed real well. (I recommend this!)

I am supposed to start P next month-I dread it and fear a major setback in hair loss which is why, again, I am researching Spiro.

I hope that things get better for you and that this post is of some help or at the very least helps you to not feel alone. ( Pam, my heart goes out to you because we are " in the same boat" on this one and so many women who have not had hair loss issues (lucky gals!) cannot even begin to know the devasting emotional scars that it places on one.)

nne,

I read this post and soooo relate to all that you said-I have spread

my E through out the day now as I think it works better for me, too.

BTW: I told my husband that " they " would have to pry my bottle of

OOE out of my cold dead hands (should some govt agency try to ban it-

BHRT)!!!

She has me on low E as to not shock my bod as I was only at a reading of "5" for E! However, impatient me has taken it up faster than she started me out with and I seem to be tolerating it well. Alas, no new hair, not even any sprouts :( well, it hasn't been that long, I need to be patient.

Once we get this in hand I want her to re-visit thyroid issues...always something...until all of this the only problem I really had to deal with was " what to cook for dinner"and kidney stones...I'd much rather pass stones than lose my hair!

We must hang in there,

Lana

LANA, :))))))))) I was at 16 E when I started WP......OMG I was in heaven. I think it's good to move slow, BUT YOU NEED SOME E :))))) Life will perk up big time :)) I think I could have stayed at 8-9 mgs. if i had had a very low dose of P. The HRT cream E barely gets in, so I felt good with my blood level in the high 200's to even 400's.......some of us just need more E to function, and I have no parts, :))) See if you can't get her to give you a bit more, so your blood is closer to 200 :))) Just my 2cents worth :)) OH and think it's smart of you to keep an eye on your thyroid along with the E....:))

Pam,

Yes, my GYN monotors my regimine with great interest since I am her "worst" case she says (with love). She and I are taking this journey together and she is willing to read and do most anything (legal or logical) to help me-such a blessing!

Taking your advice-I am going to get doc to increase the dose so I am not such an OOE mess from a gazillion drops of "lower dose"-you could fry an egg & potatoes on my wrists/arms!! :) Thanks for the 2 cents LOL!Lana

Most have their OOE made up in 1mg. per drop :))))))

see if she'll go for that, LOL XOXO
