Yes, I tried to walk for 15 minutes last night. I thoroughly enjoyed the scenery but oh my the hips were killing me. Maybe tomorrow I can do 16 minutes! > Hope to get to know everyone on the list, ya'll sound > like such a great group of people. Ahhhhh, a southern turtle. I haven't heard " ya'll " since I moved from Florida to Delaware. Made me think of fishing on Cross Creek in rural Florida and hungering for Cooter Pie at the diner under ancient trees loaded with Spanish moss. Guest guest
Hi Caroline, I have a sick cat right now which raises my stress level considerably. Sleep is a problem I can't seem to solve. I appears my sleep cycles have dropped from about 125 minutes to about 90 minutes. Also, only sleep about 6 hours on a good night. " cooter pie " is that racoon? talk to you later, turtle > Controlling stress and getting enough of and the right > kind of sleep > seem to be the biggest help for many of us. > > Ahhhhh, a southern turtle. Guest guest
Hi Caroline, Sorry I'm so slow answering. I can't keep up with my e mail, but, I really do enjoy the posts. Reading the post on the fibro list is often the highlight of my day. With the fibro and all the problems it causes, I get comfort reading the post. It helps me feel less alone. When people talk about their pain, I know what they mean, often I have had the same problem the same day. I wish there was something I could do to help everyone on the list have less pain. I have a doctor appointment tomorrow with the sleep doctor. I think he is going to order a sleep study. Lack of sleep certainly seems to be one of my big problems. Wishing everyone a good nights sleep, Turtle > > Howdy Turtle-- > > > Now I know if someone is coming toward me with a pie pan, > > I had better run as fast as I can and hide in my shell > > Yes, indeed. It is easy to get swamped with emails, like I am at the moment. I slide the emails over to a " to answer subdirectory, " and sometimes never quite get back to them. > Reading the post on the fibro list is often the highlight of > my day. It's like picking up an old phone that is still on the party line system. Are you old enough to remember that? > I have a doctor appointment tomorrow with the sleep doctor. > I think he is going to order a sleep study. Lack of sleep > certainly seems to be one of my big problems. By accident I have found a solution to my life-long sleep problem. I had tried every sleeping pill that has been invented and then I tried a muscle relaxer for a different problem and like magic I am now sleeping through the night and falling asleep quickly. It seems that it was muscle pain keeping me awake and msucle spasms during the night that was waking me up. Guest guest
Caroline, Yes I remember the party lines, I'm 57. re: sleep What is the name of the muscle relaxer that works for you? If I haven't already tried it, I will ask my doctor for it. turtle > > Hi Turtle-- > > > Sorry I'm so slow answering. Guest guest
Caroline, That was one I couldn't take because of the side effects. So far I haven't had very good luck with the meds. Drats! What a surprise. I'm usually sensitive to most drugs, but Soma does the trick for me. Tell your doc to get creative and try some of the other muscle relaxers and see if they work. Neither my doc or I thought a muscle relaxer would make that much of a difference since I'd tried so many other more potent sleep meds. But like a good Doc, he was willing to try. So Turtle, have you unpacked your winter turtlenecks yet? I have but I don't seem to have the neck for them. I keep pulling at the collar. I like the mock turtlenecks better. Guest guest
Howdy Caroline, Yes, I seem to have a lot of trouble finding something that works. Think I will start looking for non main stream solutions, maybe a glass of wine at night to start. Mock turtles are nice, but, there is nothing about the real thing, LOL Actually, I used to wear turtle necks a lot, next time I'm at the store I'll see if I can find them again.
