Dear Sue,

I hope you see a doctor immediately and explain how you feel. It sounds like

you are

depressed, and this can be very dangerous. It will pass, but you may need some

help to

get through it. You can better deal with the physical pain if you are not so

depressed.

Then I would also see a neurologist, imho. I take it you did have an explant;

do you know

if everything was removed? The capsules?

Yes, I have an appt with a neurologist on MOnday. I have seen two

different chiropractors as well, been to massage therapy,

acupuncture. Yoga and meditation has also been suggested to me.

Nothing is helping. Also, a pain management specialist who was

worthless to me. My explant plastic surgeon I have told numerous

times about the pain. She keeps saying I will be fine. My original

one never listened. I know my next step is a psychiatrist because I

can't handle the depression anymore and am very scared. I am so on

overload.

My explant dr. said my capsule was so paper thin it would cause more

damage to the surrounding tissues to remove it. She had said she

would have removed if it was thick, etc. I only had my implants for

3 months. Does this sound right?

I am so confused and distraught over everything.......

My heart goes out to you, and I can relate to your mental state because I have been feeling the same way since my BA about 5 months ago. I don't find alot of joy in my life right now and my health has been a mess since the surgery. I'm worried now about having the explant, too, though - because I'm looking for it to be a relief and it sounds like you've had problems since yours. I'm not physically alone however my husband is not supportive of my having an explant is has mentally checked out. I too regret doing this to my body, and feel like I complicated my life and worry that I'll never be the person I once was. Who did your explant?

--- I have a family member that works in some alternative medicine

and he gave me a lymph massage after my explant. He told me a

little about lymph drainage and those nodules sound like a problem

in your lymph drainage. There are areas all over your body and the

armpit and breast area is one of the large ones. Maybe you could

try a lymph drainage massage if you havnt already. What cleansing

approach have you tried since explant. I know your depression has

probably become so large that cleansing your body isnt as much of a

priority but it might help you feel better all together. I was told

that your liver can cause alot of depression if its not working

properly. I too am depressed about my breasts now but i cant let

myself become too absorbed with my body because i need and want to

feel better. You only had your implants in for 3 months right, you

have more of a heads up then most of us who waited years to take

them out. Your stronger then you think, i waited and waited because

of vanity.

Sue Marie,

When a woman is symptomatic, the capsule should be

removed. It may be very thin . . . but it can be

removed anyway! The idea is to remove the capsule with

the implant still inside so the contents don't get

spilled into the chest cavity.

It can take a lot longer to recover if there was a

toxic spill.

Hello,

You might want to do some research on nattokinase, it

supposedly helps the body break down fibrin which I

would think capsules are made of. Along with this far

infrared or regular sauna would be beneficial because

sweating gets out toxins, I can tell you this from

recent experience. Make sure you drink tons of water

and clear your bowel with fiber. Check out chlorella

and maybe even the Detox Book on the internet.

I would bet your body is breaking down the thin

capsule and it is making you feel very ill. Our own

body actually produces toxins when tissue is broken

down and you are probably in overload. If you can

sleep alot do it. I have not had that luxury use to

children needing me every minute.

Hi,

Yes, I listened to too many people about how great it was too have

breasts and it was the best thing they ever did. What a lie. It has

done nothing but ruin my physical and mental health to say in the

least. I am also going into financial debt.

I know exactly how you feel. I hated the implants from day one and

along with the health issues its been horrible. I know explant is

the right thing to do, its just that none of my pain has gotten

better and now I have the deformity on top of it.

Oh my gosh, I am so so sorry about your husband. You need that

support........what is he thinking? You are ill and need his help,

support, etc.

I went to Dr. Powers in Santa , Ca. She is a very caring

person........

please keep me posted and take care.

Thank you everyone for your responses. You all care and it makes me

cry because I feel so alone........

Did the dr. lie to me then about causing damage to healthy tissue if

the think capsules were removed? I can't believe what a nightmare

all of this is.......

To top it off, I had also had liposuction done at the same time as

the implants. I have constant burning pain in my legs as well. They

are swollen and tender to the touch at the removal sites. I don't

know what to do about this........I know this is an implant site, but

has anyone ever heard of this?

thank you sooo much.

I had a bit of liposuction done on my abdomen to even out an ugly vertical c-section scar. I did have some strange sensations in my abdomen, including burning, pulling, lumpiness and tightness that took several months to completely clear up. I ended up pulling a muscle in my abdomen when I was recovering. My surgeon injected a steroid into the area to reduce the swelling. The steroid caused the tissue to atrophy so I had to have fat grafted from my thigh and reinjected into my abdomen. This was nothing short of another lipo procedure with me awake! They took fat from my leg and reinjected it into my abdomen. My thigh swelled and bruised quite a lot. It has been three weeks since the second procedure and my leg is still sore and slightly swollen. How long has it been since your lipo procedure? Do you know if they removed much fat? The more fat that is removed, the rougher the procedure is. Because I am quite thin, my doctor used a small canula and removed only a small portion of fat. He said the more that is removed the rougher the recovery.

Hi Sue,

Lea explained this so eloquently. Sue, there is no harm getting psychological

help - with

a person who has had surgery & is very sick, depression is pretty common. It

doesn't mean

you are crazy! It means only that you've been overwhelmed with health

problems... And I

think it is all the much harder with implants because it is such a personal

issue as well. I

have been very depressed also, and until very recently was seeing a

psychologist. I am

still taking antidepressants. It has been a huge help. The last two years were

the years

from hell for me, with getting so sick and then having an explant, and

struggling to regain

some health...

Like Lea said, stay close. We can support each other. None of us is alone in

this life.

Love,

Molly

Sue,

Very few doctors willingly remove the capsules because

they don't understand the reason to do so. . . after

all, they don't believe that implants cause health

problems . . . and they like to think that removing

the implants won't help us get well. It's all in our

head after all!

It takes a lot more time for a doctor to carefully

remove the capsules . . . for them, time is MONEY!

One plastic surgeon told me, to my face, that he made

money putting breast implants in and in taking them

out. He didn't give a d*** what they did!

Sue,

Getting your implants removed should mean that you

will be in any way deformed . . . A good plastic

surgeon can make you look great . . . If a doctor

tells you you'll be deformed, he/she is speaking of

their own skills . . .

Run!

Rogene

I don't really don't know about liposuction, but I do know sometimes

it can be dangerous. Have you been back in to see your surgeon? I

think you should go back and talk to her about your breasts as well

as the liposuction. Or go back to another doctor just to make sure

that your liposuction isn't infected or something else isn't wrong.

It may be normal, I really dont know. My neice had lipo done and I

know that she was really sore and bruised but I couldn't tell you

for how long. I think it was probably really hard on your system to

have that kind of surgery done at explant. No wonder you aren't

improving yet. Your body has all it can do just to try and recover

from those surgeries. And that is if everything went off without a

hitch. If you do have issues with the liposuction, that could

certainly be playing into the pain that you might be feeling. YOu

have to remember people sick with autoimmune diseases aren't going

to take surgery well. Try taking care to get plenty of rest, drink

plenty of water, make sure there are no issues with your surgeries,

and start on some supplements like primal defense, colostrum, etc.

Make sure that you are eating very healthy. But I would definitely

stay on top of the symptoms with the lipo to make sure there aren't

any complications.

Lea and Molly,

Your thoughts really touch me. I have been so much in despair. My

pain continues to get worse. My whole body tingles at night, my

legs throb from the lipo and my chest throbs from the implant

surgery and removal I guess. My pectoral muscles are swollen

constantly and 2 drs. and my chiropractor feel nodules. What did my

first plastic surgeon do to me?? Have you ever heard of

this...damage also to the pecs? I won't even look at my deformed

breasts in the mirror anymore or I start to lose it.

The neurologist I went to see ordered an MRI of the head and neck

(don't know why), blood work and a nerve conduction test. I don't

have results yet. She put me on Neurontin, which is some kind of

nerve pain medication. She would not give me an antidepressent (can

you believe it?!! I was crying in her office) so now I need to see

yet one more dr., a psychiatrist. I don't like her and will try and

find another one once all the testing is done. She had no

compassion and was in fact judgmental of the cosmetic surgery I had

had.

Will I ever be " normal " again?

Hi,

Thank you. I will try a lymph massage/drainage. There actually is

an RN Licensed Massage Therapist that specializes in lymph drainage

in my chiropractors office. The nodules though are in my pectoral

area. It is constantly swollen and in pain and feels like rubber

bands are pulling them tight. Does that make any sense?

I haven't really tried a cleansing approach since explant. Just a

lot of supplements. Do you start with the intestines first? My

chiropractor is also an eastern/western nutritionist and chinese

herbalist. I will ask her.

I didn' know about the liver causing depression if not functioning

properly. I am so overwhelmed and depressed by everything now I

just don't know where to start or what kind of dr. is best, who to

turn to, etc.

HOw long have you been on the neurontin? Some people have worse

symptoms with it. I would stay away from it if you can. You are

right to go and find someone you like and can trust. Remember that

clinical psychologists can also refer you for antidepressants if

they think they are needed. I really hope that you can hang in

there even though things seem bad right now. Your body has alot to

deal with. No matter how bad things seem, they can always get

better. And I didn't look at my breasts for weeks after the surgery

because it was so depressing. But eventually they fluffed back out

and I was ok. I know it is hard not to panic and get depressd but

you really have to try not to. Because those emotions are deadly to

your immune system. You will get through this and will start to

improve...even though it may not seem like it now. We had a woman

on this site a few years back that had her implants out and tried

everything and still felt really bad. She was talking suicidal.

Nothing seemed to helped her. Time went by and her body started

responding. Last I heard she was doing much better--though not

entirely well. She was able to take trips and was looking for a

job. Who took your implants out? Was it the implanting surgeon?

Did they remove your implants " en bloc " ? did you have drains? What

kind of pain are you experiencing? Joint? Muscle? Tendon? Pain

just at the surgery sites? Or all over your body? Perhaps we can

make some suggestions with a little more info. Especially need to

know everything you are taking orally or doing to detox. Thanks

Hugs, kathy

I don't think much of a doctor who is judgmental like that. But then, I have

run into more

than a few doctors for whom I have little respect.

The nerve conduction tests will show if you have peripheral neuropathy, which

can be

caused by a number of autoimmune illnesses. I have neuropathy- neurontin is

prescribed

to treat it, as you mentioned. I did go to a psychiatrist for depression, who

prescribed

Cymbalta. Interestingly, Cymbalta is also FDA approved for neuropathic pain

....not that

FDA approval means much anymore. Regardless, the Cymbalta has seemed to help,

and I

do not take neurontin. I am also less depressed.

You need to find a compassionate doctor. It takes some looking, but they are

out there.

Just harder to find these days.

You stick close darlin'. One day at a time, as corny as that sounds - has

saved my tuckus

more than once. The problem is NOT you, it is the miserable excuse for medicine

that our

society has allowed. Take care, and don't despair. You are not alone.

We are in this together...

Sue,

There's a terrible scandal behind Neruontin. . . They

started pushing it for off-label uses when they found

out it didn't do the job as well as the existing

anti-seizure med. I develope erythromelalgia after

taking it . . . With EM, you feel as though you are

walking on hot coals!

The feds fined the manufacturer's $430,000,000 for the

way they marketed it . . . $$$$$$ to the doctors! . .

..

The downside of it, besides the expense, is that it

depletes the Magnesium in your body. Do a web search

for " Magnesium Research Laboratory " for more info on

that. If you do take it, you need to increase your

magnesium intake . . . then you need to increase the

Neurontin so you can increase your magnesium again . .

.. Grrrrrrr..... The doctor behind the website saved

me!

It doesn't treat any disease. It just masks the

symptoms by blocking one of the pain channels to the

brain. I would be furious that a doctor prescribed

this instead of an antidepressant if I went to a

doctor with depression.

The nerve conduction test was to see if you have

peripheral neuropathy . . . one of the things

Neurontin is prescribed for. . . The ONLY thing I've

heard of that causes real improvement for PN is far

infrared treatment. My daughter is an occupational

therapists who uses it extensively with her patients

with outstanding results.

The brain scan is looking for lesions that accompany

multiple sclerosis.

My suggestion is to forget collecting diagnoses! . . .

They will just scare you and keep you upset. Once you

get your implants out, your test results are going to

start changing. In the meantime, what you are doing is

racking up a list of reasons for insurance companies

to refuse you insurance in the future, should you ever

need private insurance.

After your implants have been out for a year, and

assuming you are following a good diet, and detoxing,

IF you still have symptoms that aren't responding,

then get the tests. In the meantime, consider

consulting your doctor only when you have a medical

crisis.

You are going to be amazed at how many of your

symptoms fade away! . . . If you'll start a journal of

how you're feeling and what you are doing, it will

help you during those times when it's one step

backwards. . . . If you're like all the other women we

see, you're going to do fine!

Hugs and prayers,

Rogene
