I was going through old posts and deleting them. The ones I don't have time to read. This post caught my attention. Sorry if this is old news to you, thought I'd post anyway. Maybe you could talk to her about that. Chances are that she had her mind in her study and was trying not to get distracted. She wasn't thinking about you, but nothing against you. Talk to her about it, say how you feel, tell her that you always help her, but when she didn't return it you felt hurt. It won't end badly, if she cares about you she will try to make it better.

I agree with you about friends. It's nice having someone else to talk to. You get a different perspective. 'The quote from Dr Tony Lake was interesting as well. Goes to show it's impossible to live without other people.

I rang my girlfriend about how was feeling yesterday but she wasn't very interested because she said she was studying. She is doing a part time course 1 evening a week and she doesn't work but she couldn't spare me 1/2 an hour when I was feeling bad. I was disapointed because I have to support her a lot with my time with her worries and concerns. Anyhow, I realised how important friendship is because you need people to understand you and see your point of view. And also to point out where you might be wrong while still being your close friend with your interest at heart. It is easier to accept a mistake when you don't feel so bad about yourself and feel accepted.

Dr Tony Lake, an expert on loneliness, say's we all need a constant feedback from significant others to feel okay about ourselves othewise our internal critic is liable to take a corrosive hold and start to do damage to our self esteem. Now this makes a lot of sense to me. How I would love to be completely independent but it seems that we all need at least 1 or 2 close friends.

Kaivey.
