Hi Cristin,

How old are you dear? Yes I've had that problem..in fact the

rheumatoidologist that diagnosed me found 'several' areas that I

didn't know hurt til she triggered them. I went in because of

back/joint pain and when I left her office I knew about 8-9

different spots I didn't know that hurt. There are times wearing

shoes is out of the question. My daughter, poor thing has times she

can't bear to brush her hair. One strange thing, which is why I

asked your age, is her menstrual cycle seems to trigger onsets of

severe pain. She presently on Depo shots to relieve the severe pain

they cause..She had a lap done for endometiosis but none were found.

The OBGYN Dr.'s said a pregnacy would help relieve alot of her

pain...but a 22 she's in no hurry to test that theory out. LOL

My legs, neck and elbows will also have knotty areas that I use pain

patches on, the salonpas being a favorite of several here. They

should help if your pain is that close to the surface.

Will pray that you find some relief..don't stop looking!! and

don't give up.......................A Friend k

Hello, Yes, I have the very same. My poor husband has been a saint.

I've have just returned to work 1/5 after being out for 2 months

being jabed here and there with the diagnose of Fibromyalgi. I'm not

also as bad as others, but the flare up I had was unabearable. I

also have Polymyaliga from 10 years ago, and I'm in remission of

that. they have me now doubling up on my Paxil cr, which I started

today. For 2 years I've been on 12.5 of Paxil for anxiety, now they

have me doubled on that, along with tramdol, and Flexol muscle

relaxer. The touch is bad, feel like I've been dropped kicked.

Thank you for responding.

Yes it feels like most of my body is " bruised " when touched.

Also, if I accidentally bump into something (even very lightly),

I'll feel the intense pain in that area for SEVERAL seconds, maybe

even a minute or two.

In general, taking really hot baths seem to help (at least

temporarily).

My main areas of extreme tenderness are outer thighs, hips and outer

arms.

I'm 24, and I do notice that the pain seems to be worse mid-cycle.

Is that when your daughter's pain is worse also?

I appreciate your kind words.

Thanks.

Yes, it is. She's pretty much unable to do anything altho moderate

exercise during her periods will kick in her endorphins to fight the

pain synapses. The Dr. told her to stay away from motrin also. She

basically grew up on aspiran with the JRA. She has found the thermal

pain/heat patches give her alot of relief. Have you tried them? I

had miserable periods all thru school that didn't go away after my

son was born but I did have endometriosis and the problem was solved

with surgery. We can't look at every pain and ache as coming from

FIBRO. That would be a dangerous assumption. Like I mentioned

before..my smoking excaberates my condition so there is only so much

medication can do. I learned a long time ago that mentaly only I can

decide how I'm going to deal with my pain. If I get up in the

morning and let my pain control me then the day is lost. So I set

certain criteria that I base my pain level on... Number 1 being what

did I do the day/night before......as in staying up late to watch

TV or play on the computor..then I deserve the pain I'm feeling LOL

I know how important a good, sound sleep is for me other than the

smoking it's a key trigger point for my pain. However if I spent

several hours outside working in my garden/flower beds [basically

sitting and weeding] then the pain is a 'good' pain. Confusing?? LOL

I recently went thru menopause and I'm afraid I didn't handle

anything very well thru much of it.LOL Wouldn't recommend it for

anyone who's already over weight... Enuf on me. Keep in touch Hon,

we care. Your success is our success. :-) A Friend, k

I am 44 now, but I had severe cramps from the time I started to the year of 97. The only thing that helped me was the pill, but then I got to the point I could not take that again. I heard that having a baby would make it get better. Well, in my case it did not phase it. I did not have endometiosis. So, in 97 they did a partial hyster. I hope that does not have to come to that for you. You are still young and have a life ahead of you. Good Luck!

YES! I am the same way. I was just telling a friend the other

day... I swear I think I have had this my whole life, but didn't

know... thought this was just the way I am. When people would touch

my neck/shoulders to give me a little massage--I could almost cry

from the pain. And they weren't rough, it just just them touching

those muscles.

I am always sore and knotted... very inflexible... People laugh at

how inflexible I am...

I do. I have the bruised feeling on the inside of my arms near the

elbows, on the inside of my knees just below the knees, and my outer

thights near my buttocks. It's just a sore kind of thing, pressure

feels like when you press down on a bruise.

I also have pain in my neck and upper back daily since 99, my neck is

stiff and limited movement. Lately I've started doing my stretches

and yoga, that seems to help me. I had a almost three month flare

that had me aching down both arms, all over my back, sometimes my

legs, etc. But on a normal day to day basis the achiness isn't

there. Just maybe once a year. I go into a flare if I don't visit my

chiropractor regularly, or if I do heavy housework. Lots of bending,

stooping, and heavy lifting leaves my neck and shoulders in a lot of

pain.
