Guest guest
Molly, A sleep disorder goes hand in glove with fibromyalgia. The one medication I won't do without is Temazapam - 15 mg. I've never been one who needed much sleep . . . Then, when I got sick I couldn't sleep. Doctors who understand FM don't have a problem with prescribing it. Don't let them give you Neurontin! . . . Awful stuff! . . . Same with muscle relaxors! They take away any desire to get up and go! There are a number of things the ladies here can recommend to help you sleep . . . one is taking magnesium (two parts calcium to one part magnesium). There are some herbals too . . . I'd caution against Melatonin though. It works short term, but long term, I found it made me feel terrible! Celestial Seasonings Sleepy Time tea is excellent. As are hot baths, dim lights, soft music - or what I used to do . . . Read an algebra book. My brain just refused to go along with that for more than a few minutes before it shut down!
