Stress and Eating

For the first time since my RNY surgery, I have felt a little out of control

with my eating the past two days. In the past I would have just beat myself up

for eating the wrong things and kept doing it. Well, I got in the hot tub last

night with the purpose of relaxing and trying to figure out WHY I've had a

problem the past two days. I believe it's stress and the fact that I don't feel

in control of my life right now. Work is extremely stressful and I've been

working more hours than normal. That has me stressed out because I don't have

enough time to get everything done with my son and at home. Then my husband's

sister called me Saturday night and asked if we could have Thanksgiving at my

house. That TOTALLY stressed me out for many reasons, but I didn't feel like I

could say no, especially since my hubby really wanted to have it at our house

anyway. Those are the two big things, but there are lots of other things going

on, too.

Anyway, the point of telling you guys this is (well, other than being able to

vent for a moment) that instead of just berating myself I stopped to try and

figure out WHY. That is new for me, and a positive change since having surgery.

I have been worried about maintenance, but perhaps this type of behavior will

stop any bad habits before they become a real problem.

Anyway, I just wanted to share what I thought was a positive step for me in this

journey. Not all progress is measured by the scale or inches lost.
