Guest guest
Hi! There IS good news about explantation. I had 'double lumen' implants which were saline and silicone, and had them for 20 years by the time I had them removed. It has only been a year and a half, but I am feeling much better. I was very sick by the time I discovered my implants were ruptured. Other women have had saline or silicone for a much shorter time and were very ill. They too usually feel much better when the implants are removed. There is a forum which focuses on explantation, that you would probably like. It is http://explantation.com/ You will find a LOT of information about explant there (as well as here). Good luck!! > Hi. This is my first post to this site. I got implants 4 months > ago. Guest guest
Hi Welcome to our site. You will be glad to know that your symptoms sound like your implants and they are fairly commmon to those of us who got sick from implants. Yes, you can get better by explanting. The majority of women who explant properly get alot better if not entirely better. After explant, the majority of women find that by detoxing their bodies and making changes to their diet they can get better faster. Several women on this site have had the same situation where their husband did not believe that the implants could be the source of their symptoms. Almost always, they came around either before the explant was scheduled or after the explant and they saw that their wife improved. Perhaps it would help to let him read this site. We have alot of good information in our files and just by reading the posts you can learn alot. This is a very supportive group and also a very knowledgeable one. Please feel free to ask whatever questions you may have. I doubt that an infectious disease doctor would be helpful. Many of the women sick from implants have normal bloodwork, even though feeling quite sick. Even if you are diagnosed with a particular disease, they most likely will think it is not related to implants. What did your ps say? Did he think your implants were causing your illness? Most PS don't believe that and most women do not go to the implanting ps to get an explant for that very reason. Make sure you go to a really good plastic surgeon who will remove them properly. The implants need to be removed " en bloc " . That means removing not only the the implants but the capsules formed around them as well without spilling the contents of the implant inside you. We have a list of plastic surgeons that we can recommend who should do the job correctly. I am glad that you have recognized so quickly that the implants are making you sick. Don't let anyone talk you out of that belief. The longer you leave them in, the more symptoms you will develop. We have all been in your shoes. The good news is that you CAN get better! Guest guest
Thanks so much. I actually spoke with one of the doctors listed on your site today, and I found it so comforting. I e-mailed another and she also sounds incredible, too. Imagine doctors who actually ask you to call them on a Saturday, or respond to e-mails you send them over the weekend!! Of course I'll have to travel if I choose one of these doctors, but if I'm going to get these out, then I definitely want someone who is going to carefully remove the implants and the capsules. Since my own plastic surgeon doesn't believe the implants are the cause of the problem, I'm concerned that he won't remove the capsules, or maybe that he'll drain the things before he pulls them out - so I'm pretty much ruling him out. As for hubby, I'm not going to make him part of the decision process because he will totally reject the idea of me going out of state to have this done - but this is my health and my body, and I have to care for it properly. ----- Original Message -----From: mikat828 Subject: Re: New to this site - Have alot of questionsDate: Sat, 17 Sep 2005 04:08:38 -0000Hi Welcome to our site. Guest guest
Thanks, and I appreciate your help. I was in the midst of a panic attack regarding the symptoms I'm having when I typed up the original message. I've got saline implants. I spoke to one of the recommended doctors today and I'm so thankful to have spoken to a doctor who acknowledges the implants are the problem. > Honey: > > We are not here to frighten anyone. Guest guest
Hi, I was wondering if you exersize? I would try walking and working your way up to a fast walk. Then stretch for 15 min after. I had the same problems with my arms, and now I do exersizes to losen the muscles. I have muscle spasms in my right breast, and it has not dropped into it's normal position.I realize that having surgery is a shock to the body, so I am doing everything possible to give my breast implants time to adjust. Don't give up, fight it with any suggestions you may receive. It's just a suggestion, and I hope it works for you. Let me know, Susie --- In , " auntsisnj " <auntsisnj@l...> wrote: > Hi. Guest guest
Hi there, and welcome to our group, It would be nicer for you if you didn't have to be here, actually, as none of us wanted to go through implant associated illnesses, but I hope we can help you and give you some encouragement about your healing prospects. Your symptoms don't sound good. Meaning, they sound pretty much like implant related problems. The " zinging " sounds pretty familiar, as neurological issues are extremely common among implanted women. Things happen also like numbness and tingling, or muscle spasms, or creepy crawly feelings, or a cold creeping up the leg, things like that. I also had an arm go totally lifeless one morning as I was getting out of bed. It was pretty frightening. The good news is that you can get rid of all of these symptoms, or at least have a pretty good chance of getting back to normal once the implants are removed. Your husband's response sounded like mine. When I first got sick, I thought I was getting Multiple Sclerosis, because of my neurological symptoms. I had brain fog and numbness and tingling pretty bad. I was so scared I was getting this dreaded disease. My husband wanted me to go to a neurologist after I was clued into the idea that the breast implants might be the cause of my symptoms, because, like your husband, he didn't want me to get the implants out, only to find out it was " something else. " I guess he was more attached to them than I originally realized! At any rate, I did all the driving for consultations myself (a two hour drive to another city) and went ahead and scheduled explant on my own. I had made up my mind that I did not want the blasted things in my body if they were going to ruin my life. He finally realized it was the best thing I could have done for myself, but it took awhile. Now I am very much back to my old self. It has taken me a very long time to get my health back, but I did it. You can too. You just have to persevere and know what you want and know what you believe is possible. We have found that removing the implants, detoxing, and paying attention to a healthy lifestyle is a very good combination for regaining health. You are right in wondering if the medical community will recognize your problems as being implant related. Sadly, almost all doctors do not. It is pretty frustrating, and can be quite despairing when you are desperate for answers. But that is why we are here. We are a group of women suffering the same types of symptoms and finding ways to feel better and get our lives back, whether the doctors want to go there with us or not. Most of us have to do this on our own. But it works! It has worked for many of us. The first step is implant removal, done properly and by an understanding, knowledgeable plastic surgeon. Once you've gone through explant, you can begin your journey of healing. We'll be here to help you along. God bless, let us know what else you need for help. Guest guest
- HI. I was gone over the weekend. I am glad to hear that you have already spoken to some plastic surgeons! You sound like you are on top of things. I agree with you about your ps--if he doesn't believe they are making you sick, he may very well cut corners. we have had ps lie about taking out the capsule when they really didn't. Also, I agree about your husband. It is your body and you have to be the final authority about how you handle it. After all, you are the one who will live with the consequences--not your husband. Let us know when you schedule the surgery and please feel free to ask any other questions you might have. Hugs, kathy -- In , " Sis Canfield " <auntsisnj@l...> wrote: > Thanks so much. Guest guest
I have scheduled surgery with Dr. Feng on October 5th. Over the course of the last week or two, I've declined quite a bit. I was feeling poorly before, but now I'm really struggling. I'm worried that I'll get so bad that I won't survive until then. I notice that my veins in my hands look like they are bulging, my arms and fingers are sore, and my head is throbbing. A few months ago, when I first started feeling ill, one of the veins in my finger swelled to the point where it turned black and blue, so obviously I'm worried that this will occur again somewhere in my body and I won't be able to take anything to help it. In the past, it was my legs that bothered me, but it seems to have migrated to my arms now. Advil always seems to help, but I can't take Advil before the surgery. I'm not crazy about Tylenol - but if that's my only option then it'll have to do. Re: New to this site - Have alot of> questions> Date: Sat, 17 Sep 2005 04:08:38 -0000> > > Hi> Welcome to our site. Guest guest
I went through the same thing just before my surgery. I think the last 4 weeks were the worst ever! I saw Dr. Feng on the 21st of June, and had my surgery the 22nd. Once i got to her office I started to feel different, almost a little excited. I think the adrenaline kicks in once you realize that you are almost through with the whole mess. The staff at her office arewonderful, and they are very in touch with how us implant victims feel. they know how ill we truly are. You will make it through to your surgery date, even without the advil! Once you start taking your Vita-Medica that will change the way you are feeling also. The vitamins are great! I know exactly how you are feeling right now, hang in there, it's almost over! You are closer han you feel. Hugs,
Guest guest
Thanks so much. I swear I am on the verge of a nervous breakdown. Now I'm nauseaus after I eat, and I've dropped 10 lbs since May. I was 125 pre-BA, and 115 now. My biggest fear is that I'll still feel horrible after the surgery, or that I'll feel worse. I won't miss the boobs, I just want relief. I also have herpes and after the BA that became totally uncontrollable, the medication that kept it in check for years suddenly stopped working. I figured that was because my immune system is going crazy. I hope that goes back to normal eventually, too. ----- Original Message -----From: ktitko Subject: Re: New to this site - Have alot of questionsDate: Wed, 21 Sep 2005 12:50:05 -0000I went through the same thing just before my surgery. Guest guest
Hang in there. I too felt like I was going to die before I got my implants out. My heart was skipping so many beats and beating so fast I thought she wouldn't let me go through with the surgery. But I went, she did the surgery, and I felt fine afterward. I had a great recovery. Everything went without a hitch. I am praying it will be the same for you. I think you are right about the implants messing with your immune system and causing the meds not to work for the herpes. Olive leaf extract is supposed to work against herpes. And the miracle 2 neutralizer that I was talking about in a post an hour ago. I think you will find that getting your implants out will help you immeasurably. Hugs, kathy > Thanks so much. I swear I am on the verge of a nervous breakdown. Guest guest
Thanks. Today I was e-mailing with a friend who has implants, and she told me not to listen to other people's stories because then I'd start imagining symptoms. I told her I had the symptoms long before I ever heard anyone else's stories. Don't know what it is about some women with implants that makes them adamant that anyone with problems is imagining things. Anyway, I got my package from Dr. Feng today, complete with pre-surgical vitamins that I can't take!! I have to call her office and break the news, oddly enough I just had vitamin A toxicity - which seemed to be causing my joint swelling and numb fingers because when I stopped taking 10,000 units of vitamin A, I felt alot better, and I stopped feeling like I was at death's door. I still have the shooting pains throughout my body, this incredible anxious feeling and sore lymph nodes, which I've had since I got the BA, but I'm thankful that the vitamin A caused the joint swelling because I was terrified of being stuck with arthritis because of these implants. Got bloodwork back from my regular MD and no signs of rheumathoid artiritis. I honestly can't wait to have a small chest again, it was so much easier finding clothes. Not that my implants are huge, it's just that I have a certain style of dressing and it just didn't look the same with boobs. I'm glad I never bonded with them, I've always been angry at them for making things so complicated. . ----- Original Message -----From: "glory2glory1401" Subject: Re: New to this site - Have alot of questionsDate: Thu, 22 Sep 2005 13:42:17 -0000October 5th will be here soon. Guest guest
Thanks for sharing about the vitamin A toxicity. some people aren't aware of this or think they have to be taking megadoses for it to occur. How long have you been taking vitamin A? People can die from overdose so it is important for us to know which vitamins can build up in our system--vitamin D can also. When is your surgery scheduled? I bet you can't wait! Hugs, kathy > > > > Hi. This is my first post to this site. I got implants 4 > > months > > > > ago. Guest guest
I was taking 10,000 units per day, which apparently can be toxic. Luckily I'm pretty in tune with my body and had been trying to stay aware of any vitamin related changes. At first there were some positives (that anxious feeling seemed to fade). I believe I was on the vitamins for about 2 or 3 weeks before I started noticing drastic changes, the worst being swelling joints and throbbing finger tips, a dizzy feeling and my head suddenly started throbbing. I could barely function and was nauseaus. It only took one night without them for me to notice changes. Of course as soon as I stopped taking them the anxious feeling came back, but at least I can function. My surgery is scheduled for October 5th. I had the implants put in on 5/10, and I'm having them out on 10/5 - kind of ironic, huh? I notice I'm fluctuating quite a bit in how I feel about the surgery. Last night I was like "I can't wait to get them out". Today I was thinking "what if the symptoms I'm having don't go away or if it's something else and I make it worse?". This whole experience has been one great big roller coaster ride, and what I keep going back to is "yes, but I don't like the fact that they are in my body, and if I don't have that surgery, that will not change". I remember when I first got the implants, I'd go on the site that's in favor of them, and I would think "this is one club I wish I hadn't joined". I knew immediately that I had made a mistake. ----- Original Message -----From: mikat828 Subject: Re: New to this site - Have alot of questionsDate: Sat, 24 Sep 2005 02:37:59 -0000Thanks for sharing about the vitamin A toxicity. some people aren't aware of this or think they have to be taking megadoses for it to occur. Guest guest
Vitamins A, D, E and K are fat soluable . . . They can build up in your body . . . The rest are water soluable and need to be increased when doing detoxes that cause sweating. Guest guest
Sis, You're not making a mistake . . . I think we've all had thoughts like you though . . . It's a lot of expense and trouble to go through - especially if we don't get better. However, we've seen hundreds of women who have gotten much better after explant. It may take time, discipline and patience . . . But it's well worth it all! You will too! Hugs and prayers, Rogene
