Guest guest
Many tests are more definitive for problems than a silicone test. I recommend the Silicone Implant Panel Comprehensive from Immunosciences Labs in Ca. That will really help you find out what type of problems your system is showing. Check implants do all the same things that breast implants do. And hair loss is common with any type of silicone implant. Any foreign object you put into your body can cause this type of reaction. Often you have to decide if having your health is better than having the implants. Guest guest
, Welcome to the group! . . . Are you having symptoms other than hair loss? . . . There appears to be a number of factors at work . . . Some women are sensitive to the materials . . . this may show up immediately, or gradually develop as implants age. . . . The implants may have been contaminated either before implanting, or afterwards as valves leak and body fluids enter the implant. . . Then, over time, the implant degrades and silicone particles are shed, being picked up and distributed throughout the body. . . . Or implants can rupture, spilling contaminated contents into the body. This leak may be slow, with the fluids contained by the capsule, or sudden - even causing toxic shock. There are tests for silicone sensitivity . . . This won't necessarily tell you why you're losing your hair since other factors may be at work. Dr. Shanklin in Memphis does silicone sensitivity testing. Have you had your thyroid function tested? In the hands of a good doctor, you should look fine after explant. In the case of the cheek implants, they may need to graft some cartlige from your ribs to replace them. . . A surgeon would have to tell you though. I think Gortex is a different material than silicone. It's a shame that women aren't told the long term consequences before they have the first surgery? Guest guest
, This test most definately can come back normal because the silicone is usually trapped in the scar capsule and there are many other reasons for symptoms related to implants, other than silicone.
