Guest guest
>but we do not provide wake up calls, to the general public anyway,< Another of my pet peeves... In the past we have actually had officers call our dispatchers asking for wake up calls.... Grown men/women who apparently are responsible enough to carry a gun and arrest people... But aren't responsible enough to get out of bed on their own... Something my children were doing when they were 6/7 years old... Gheeezzzeeee...... Guest guest
Funny thing you should mention that <Snip>but we do not provide wake up calls, to the general public anyway, When I was 911 Director we had a policy that we didn't provide wake-up calls PERIOD!. The Police Department nearly had a smothering spell over that one. We are Professional Public Safety Telecommunicators-running a Comm. Center to help saves lives, protect property, curb crime, and prevent major fire loss. Were not the " Holiday Inn desk clerk " . If we (Communicators) manage to get up at a specific time, in order to be at a specific place, at a specific time, then you can do it also. As the saying goes " We can be responsible to you, but we can't be responsible for you " ......... Marcus Whitley ADSi
