And, I thought I would share a poem I wrote for my friend Carolyn > when she was hospitalized less than 2 years ago for this illness she died > from, Hemolytic Anemia. > > > DEAR FRIEND > > > It seems I appreciate friends > The older and older I grow > They help when life sometimes > Has too much ebb and flow. > > It is not always fair > This life on earth we lead > And friends help us along > In our hour of need. > > I've learned that I cannot change > Many things in life > And that ultimately and ever > I have to deal with strife. > > I've learned that illness comes > Without regard to who > Or what a person is > Or anything I do. > > The way that I should live > I've learned, is give and take > And giving's the most joyous > Choice that I can make. > > I've learned that being alone > Is not something to fear > And that quiet sometimes brings > Peace and serenity here. > > I've learned that my family > And friends are what's most dear > And that other things are just > Parts of life we bear. > > And you are a dear friend > The best life can bestow > Kind, thoughtful, and true > Just thought I'd let you know. > > > I love you Carolyn. > > Lynda Roth > > > May you all have such lovely friends as Carolyn has been to me.
