Guest guest
- lynda I am so sorry to hear about your friend passing away. I know that has to be tough. As far as the coconut oil, Iuse Garden of Life and purchase it from appleadayandbeyond.com. I really like it and I also give it to my dog and it seems to keep his yeast under control. He used to smell like yeast all the time as he is on a constant antibiotic or he would die. He has constant regurgitation into his lungs. The Garden of life is organic and high quality. The only negative I can say is that my cholesterol went up alot after I started using it. BUT I don't know if the coconut oil had any thing to do with it. I was also walking regularly and I was pretty disappointed to get those blood tests. Some people say coconutoil raises cholesterol. others, dr. mercola included, say it doesn't. So who knows? I am still using it as I love it! Hugs kathy t -- In , Lynda <coss@p...> wrote: > Patty, > > You may have already told us this, but I am kinda out of it. Guest guest
Interesting, I just got my cholesterol down that went up with the low thyroid. I use red rice yeast and policosanol. I will check into the cholesterol/coconut oil connection. I would not want to raise my cholesterol again. Thanks, Lynda At 08:45 PM 8/24/2005, you wrote: >- >lynda >I am so sorry to hear about your friend passing away. Guest guest
Patty, You may have already told us this, but I am kinda out of it. One of my best friends died last night. Where do you get your cocomut oil? Are there better brands than others? I have been thinking of trying this. I actually use just about the same types of oils you do. Guest guest
Hi Patty, Thank you, I’ll definitely make the substitution next time I bake. I always have coconut oil around because I am a soap maker and use it in all of my soap. Kenda Kenda, Yes, I substitute coconut oil in equal amounts. Guest guest
Lynda, I am so sorry about the passing of one of your best friends. That is so sad. Life seems less enjoyable when we lose close friends. This is a down period for you, for sure, so take it easy. Be good to yourself as you try to comfort others too. There are several brands of coconut oil out there, and I've ordered from two sources. Wilderness Family Naturals is one: http://www.wildernessfamilynaturals.com/ and Tropical Traditions is the other: http://www.tropicaltraditions.com/virgin_coconut_oil.htm Tropical Traditions has a mailing list where you can sometimes get buy one, get one free deals, which are great. That's where I got my last order from and I have liked their product. I generally look for organic virgin coconut oil. I hope that you it helpful! Patty > > > >> > Sounds like I need to take it too. Guest guest
Thanks, Patty. She died of hemolytic anemia. I just talked to her Sunday, and she did not sound like she planned to leave this world so soon. I have had a stomach flu for three days, and had not seen her. I was really shocked. She was the same age as I am. She was diagnosed two years ago and spent half a year in the hospital. She had been in remission, and I knew she was having symptoms again. I just did not think she was on a really downhill track. She was truly the kindest, sweetest, most honest, most caring person I have ever known. I will miss her greatly. Guest guest
Oh Lynda, I'm so sorry! . . . Can I recommend a wonderful book? . . . " Final Gifts " .. . . It's a postive book about how people make the transition from life to death. It was written by hospice nurses. . . It was recommended it to us by a hospice nurse when my father-in-law came to stay for his last days. The book helped us understand so much. I will never fear dying again! Love, Rogene
